Who's still waiting as of March 30th? :( - Page 3

Hey fellow late ladies! I am still here, too! Tons of prodromal labor. Ctx come for a few hrs 10 minutes apart and then go away. rolleyes.gif

Will it ever happen? My most exciting thing is mucus plug and bloody show, like, 1/2 a cup's worth. With my other three kids, I didn't lose that until a couple of hours before baby, in active labor. This is so weird.

Something to amuse you... Do a google search for blue line dilation or purple line dilation. There is a reddish/purplish line that appears from the anus to the top of the natal cleft and its length roughly corresponds to a laboring mother's dilation. I have mine now and it shows five centimeters and I was told I am five centimeters by internal exam. I used a sharpie marker on my bootie to measure my progress! LOL! To see it well, pull the cheeks as far apart as you can. This phenomenon was discussed, studied in the journal, Lancet.

And velveeta, did you have your baby??

MrsBerkeley?

My home-birth midwives can go to 42 weeks 3 days before I have to transfer to hospital care for the birth. I'm 41+5 today. My Mom has been in town for 11 days now, expecting to have been helping with the baby already. Ha! She has been a great distraction for me, though, and maybe it turns out that's what I needed more! She was planning to leave for home on Saturday, and is now trying to figure out how many more days off work she should ask for. This baby decidedly has a mind of its own.

And now I totally understand why all of you that went this late started getting super antsy. Having every morning involve wondering if and hoping that the baby will come today is definitely a little crazy-making!

Oh, chocchip. you are in my thoughts.....

Velveeta, that is so interesting about the purple line dilation....I'm glad I didn't know before though as it would've been another thing to drive me mad checking it!
Sounds like you're on the verge, best of luck to you.

MrsBerkley, also thinking of you. C'mon March babies, we can't wait to meet you all!

I tried looking for the purple line yesterday after reading about in a few different places and i wish i hadnt! lol.gif. My butt has definitely gotten flabbier and so trying to make something out in the crack wasnt the most pleasant experience. There was something purplish there but how do i know it doesnt always look like that?? I also started imagining if DH walked in on me looking at my butt crack in the mirror--i know he'd never let me live that down lol!

I'm starting to think i might have miscalculated my due date and since i havent had an ultrasound and i'm also UCing/UPing, i dont know for sure. If i havent miscalculated it then jeez this is a long pregnancy!! I'd be a little over 43 weeks, wow. I'm just going with the flow, not dwellling on it too much and listening to my intuition.

LOL about your DH seeing you checking your line, sunshinelove. I had my DH take a picture of it for me!!

I had a precipitous birth yesterday. We were at the hospital for a non stress test, and I had to leave in the middle of it to come home to have my baby! It was crazy and wonderful.

Baby Simon born two hours after the partial NST!

Hurrah Velveeta, and welcome baby Simon! How funny you got to leave hospital for home when most folk do the opposite smile.gif A precipitous birth is amazing but takes some time to process. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.

You guys had great timing with asking about me and my baby smile.gif. After being a whole month late (i may have been off by a week) the contractions started as soon as i started trying to fall asleep (about 1 am), baby boy was born at 9:14am (april 19) at home. He weighs 8lbs4oz and looks just like his daddy. Name and pictures to come soon.
