I wanted to see if anyone knew of a carrier for a toddler that is comfortable for pregnant women. I was carrying my 18 mo this evening in my ergo to feed animals tonight and it was definitely squeezing my uterus. Any ideas?
Carrier for pregnant moms
Another option, and probably the most versatile, is a woven wrap, because you can do a modified rucksack type carry, where you are tying the bottom strap above your belly. Or you can do like a full body wrap around (like an African villager ties her baby)
I bet if you search on YouTube for "pregnancy back carries" or "woven wrap pregnancy" you may even get some videos.

I either use a Mei Tai or a woven wrap. With the MT I tie the waist strap above the belly. It's not as comfortable as the wrap, but it is easier to get on when DS is in a particularly squirmy mood. With the wrap I do a ruck tied Tibetan so there is nothing anywhere near my belly and this is the most comfy.
Not great pictures, but the only fairly recent ones I have with a ruck TT (wrap is a Storch Leo).
I was so right about youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqJy9_vwGzE
She doesn't show it, but I agree with somegirl about the Tibetan tie at the end, it's my preferred tie as well. at the very end, instead of just bringing the wrap to the front and tying, you take the ends of the wrap and put them under the straps that go under your armpits. you make an X across your upper chest and then tiea knot in the front ( like in somegirl's pic). The tail in your right hand goes under the left side strap, and the tail the tail in your left hand goes under the right side strap, then tie a square not in the front. I feel like it helps keep weight in the correct place across my back and keeps the shoulder straps in a good position.
