Had a midwife appointment today and baby is head down! Woo hoo! With a hand by its head though, but better than breech. And even after all that pressure I am not dialated at all, which I'm OK with.

Today was a horrible horrible day for me and all he does is make stupid insulting comments instead of trying to make me feel better. Then wants to know if we are going to be OK once the baby is born or if there's still going to be fighting. Mean while I'm running on fumes from 3 nights of no sleep.

And I feel the same way about complaining to my family about him because we are normally so good. I don't want them to get the wrong impression about him, as he is a great person and father normally.

Off topic a bit but I can barely walk right now. DS2 darted out into the street today right as a car was coming and I had to run after him which killed my pubic bone. I thought my chiro appt today would help but the adjustments seemed to have made all my pains worse. I have been crying at like every little thing today too and just want to sleep but my heartburn and restless legs won't let me. I plan on keeping DS home from school tomorrow so we can enjoy the warm weather and I will hopefully have a much better day!

Why do men think they have any right to be moody or have an attitude when we are pregnant!? Really!? DH has been really chill and understanding this whole pregnancy but a couple times made stupid comments and it's like shut UP man! We always seem to have our rough patches right after baby comes because he is a constantly on the go type person and it always seems like he forgets that newborns and newly PP mom's can't just up and leave and go with him and he doesn't want to slow down for us. Arg! I am hoping that this time is different FX!

AFM: It seems like almost all of my birthy type feelings have disappeared. I still get some strong BH's but they seem to be kind of a useless type, and I can actually walk normal and have had hardly any pain the last few days. Also my appetite finally slowed down today and everything seems to be just on hold for now. I guess that will help me not go into labor next week when DH is gone all week. Although, I did have about a quart of RRLT lastnite and holy cow did that bring on about an hour of strong BH's! Maybe I will have to keep up with that.

I had been gaining a couple pounds a week for a few weeks and couldn't seem to get enough to eat or drink. This last week it finally slowed down and now I am down a pound. Weird

The happy feelings from the chiro on Monday are slowly fading, but still feel better than I did when I woke up on Monday. Hubby just worked his first of five nights in a row. He was hoping for baby before this stretch, but now I am hoping baby waits until after this stretch. I do not want to start labor when he either gets called home in the middle of a shift or I have to wake him up after him working all night. 5 more days and my sister will be here. That is what I have been waiting for and his night shifts will be done for the week, so the 9th-11th would be really great!
I really can't believe how tired I am though. I just barely do anything, like take my daughter to the park yesterday for a play date, and then need to come home and rest for a couple hours. I need to get a bit of cleaning and picking up done, but I am soooo tired. Maybe I will get some nesting energy today. Here's hoping.

Not much to say here.

My heart aches for our mamas with dh issues. I can only counsel clearly communicating your expectations for now and postpartum. Really always but let's keep focused on the near term. Lol

My birthy feelings have faded a bit, or transformed and become more intent, I guess. I was carrying a lot of fear and as I have been working on it my birthy feelings have faded to the backgound. I feel more intuitive about things. Hope that makes sense!

I'm so sorry for all those having DH troubles... greensad.gif sending BIG warm hugs to all of you! And we are here to listen!!!

I had my chiro adjustment and acupuncture treatment today. I only felt a few contractions while I was sitting there but it was super relaxing. smile.gif I lived the dr!!! She was SUPER knowledgable abt pregnancy and childbirth having had 10!!!!!! Babies herself!! WOAH! And working with pregnant and laboring women for over 15yrs. She palpated baby and confirmed she is still head down and thinks she will weight somewhere between 7.10 - 8.2lbs smile.gif she also listened to baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope and I got to hear too! What a cool sound!!! SOOO different than with a Doppler. Was a very cool appt. my pelvis was very contorted (no doubt from all the bed rest) so she thinks that why she hasn't "dropped"... She really worked on my pelvis for a long time so hopeful babe will now drop smile.gif

FX labor happens soon! Otherwise I might go back on Monday. After my OB appt.

I just found the coolest thing!

So, we have one of those baby bouncer seat things (which I borrowed when DD was a babe and it was a lifesaver...I'd bring it in the bathroom, put her in it and turn on the vibration so I could shower)...we got it free, which is awesome...but it didn't have vibration. I know not all babies like the vibration, but it seems rare to me. Anyhow, Munchkin makes a little thingy that vibrates that you can put under a crib mattress, but I've read about other parents who use it in swings, strollers, etc. So hopefully I can use it for multiple things. And it was about 30 bucks or so, which is probably cheaper than I could have even gotten a used vibrating seat for.

I got mine from a Canadian website (that had free shipping), but it's on Amazon for less. And the reviews seem to generally be very positive. So that's a relief. Usually I look up reviews before I buy something like this, but I spaced it this time. It's not often I come across baby gadgets that don't make me go "that's so stupid, what a waste of money." lol

During the final week of my second pregnancy, I was down a pound, and the midwife said that was a sign that labor is coming within the week, and sure enough ds2 was born 5 days later. Here's hoping that's true for you too!!

I have heard that a lot too. Bummer that I missed out on it though. LOL (lost a couple lbs and kept it off for abt a week or so, after steadily gaining the entire pg, but then started gaining again). I don't know if I have ever lost before labor with past pg's, as I had stopped weighing myself, but I am keeping better track this time (as depressing as it might be) so hopefully I will see.

OMG! I was just coming on here to say that despite my major appetite this last week (like crazy appetite) I was down a pound or two when I weighed myself this afternoon! Hmmmmm.....thumb.gif

We didn't keep the travel system from when DD was a baby (we sold it once she outgrew it since we weren't sure if we'd ever have another baby and didn't want to be storing it/lugging it around for moving).  I wanted a jogging stroller so I can take Theo running with me, but I didn't want to buy a regular stroller AND a jogging stroller. So I looked for months for a Graco jogger that I could clip the car seat into, and the only ones in our budget that I found were in the States. But we couldn't get one when we went to Ohio because we didn't have the cash at the time or the space to fit it in the car for the drive home.

Well...this morning I discovered that the InStep Safari jogger accepts multiple car seats, including the Graco one we have! And it was on sale from Sears. So yay! With shipping/taxes it only came to $174, and it seems to have good reviews (considering the price) on Amazon. So that's one more thing off my to-do list. We do a LOT of baby wearing, but sometimes I just want to have a stroller, especially if I'm going to the mall, or the zoo, or something and want to be able to put the diaper bag in the basket beneath the seat. Plus DD is really looking forward to going on walks around the neighborhood with Teddy in his stroller, and her doll in her toy stroller. :)

That's really cool! I bet DD will like doing that, too. (If I can keep her from wanting to push the real baby in the real stroller. orngtongue.gif ) I'm glad you could find it on (pretty good? really good? okay?) sale, too. It never occurred to me that things would be more expensive in Canada, I guess I just never thought like that. redface.gif

It's been a kind of rough day for me, but I guess it could be worse, so... there's that. I called and (finally) set up a time for DF and I to get married. That's pretty exciting. orngbiggrin.gif Next Wednesday at 11. joy.gif Not the most romantic/grand gesture, but we're going to at least have a cook out reception thing this summer, if we can't pull off a friends/select family ceremony, too.

CONGRATS! Have fun! :D

Yup, almost everything is more expensive here...except health care. ;)    I believe a lot of it has to do with the government not subsidizing industries the same way they do in the US.  It was only $20 or $30 off the regular price, but the regular price was the same as the stroller I had looked at at Target.

I went today for a 2nd acupuncture treatment. It was extremely relaxing and I was having ctx while the needles were in and on the drive home but once I got home, they fizzled out. I had a massage this morning, too. I'm just SO done with being pregnant (40 weeks tomorrow) and I want to meet this little boy! I was feeling great until Tuesday and now I am just done. I'm frustrated that the first acupuncture treatment didn't send me into labor, but I'm sure there's a reason for it. I am running out of patience. Anybody else?

Men should be very careful in their wording when they are trying to point out that their pregnant wife is "miserable." It wasn't what he meant, but it came off as me being miserable and I about blew smoke out of my ears. Cuss.gif

Just popping in to note that one of my close friends from high school just had her baby! Her due date was exactly two weeks ahead of mine! So right at 39 weeks, she had little Mya Estelle. I'm SO freaking jealous now!

.... and I'm over here with NO signs of impending labor. Blah! Yesterday while I was doing laundry, I was having those sharp pains in my pelvis almost constantly but they went away when I got in the car to run to the grocery store. :( I know I'm only 37 weeks, but all these babies are making me SO anxious!

I'm sorry Tiffany! My DH has made some pretty uncalled for comments along the way. He STILL likes to say "you have a big belly!" Well, yes, I am aware. It doesn't compare to when he called me a "fatty," but he learned quickly that joking in that way isn't okay when you are talking about your pregnant wife. I'm about 99% sure he's made the same comment about me being "miserable" before. Ugh.

Congrats bmcneal! :D

IronMam, that's awesome about the jogging stroller! They're so expensive but they're really, really nice and I LOVE mine, even though I haven't gotten to use it yet.

Thanks for checking in, Cari! :) Been thinking about you!

Nesting is aaaawwwwwwesome you guys!

I'm finally getting stuff done again! I made some super cute onesies today with iron-on vinyl. I also made a glow-in-the-dark TARDIS sleeper (it's a Doctor Who thing). It makes me go *squee!*

This. I've gotten more done today than I have in the last weeks combined.

That glow in the dark sleeper sounds cool! I wish I was artsy/creative enough to make things for my babies. Maybe someday. smile.gif

Something's going on, but probably nothing worth really mentioning, outside of the fact that something is happening, on it's own, without having help from nurse/midwife/OB. That's reassuring a little. It (hopefully) means this time my body will go on it's own, right? *crossing fingers*

I want to nest. I really do. And I have had days where I have gotten tons done. The problem is, I pay for it big time in my back at night, and the following day I am wiped out. I am hoping to get the house cleaned today because somewhere between Wednesday and Thursday, it has gotten out of hand!

Last week, the fridge, the tv, and the car all broke. The part came for our fridge yesterday and DH put it in. It seems to be working! Yay! Having no fridge in the house really sucked. I hope it keeps working. The car was leaking coolant really bad and we didn't know what to do since it's an old car and it would cost too much to fix. Well, DH got hit by a kid yesterday so now we can't even drive the car. I am glad we didn't spend the $500 to fix the coolant... but now we are down to one vehicle so I am stuck at home. Boo. As for the tv, we are not getting it fixed or getting a new one. We really don't use it much anyway. It's annoying though! I hope nothing else breaks (unless it's my water and labor is well underway!)

Nothing new birth-wise here. Lots of back pain and cramping and BH contrax, but nothing of note. No mucus or fun bloody stuff. 38w5d, so I am not surprised. I keep telling myself that 2 weeks is not long... the baby will most likely be here in 2 weeks. We have people coming over for dinner tomorrow, I have an OB appt on Monday, and DD1's bday is Tuesday, so at least I have things to keep  me busy for awhile.

Hmmm. I just realized that I won't have a car to go to my appt on Monday. Crap. Guess I better go figure that one out....

Cagnew, what rotten luck! Hopefully that turns around for you soon.

bmcneal, for the onesies it's all about having the right tools. I have a circuit (though I always tell people to get a Silhouette instead and NOT buy a circuit), which cuts the heat vinyl for me. Then all I have to do is iron it for 15 seconds or so.
