Serafina-The fact that you are getting help now will hopefully help your relationship (at the very least, you're making an effort which, with a supportive partner, should go a long way) and give you time to work out your issues before the birth, which will hopefully keep things uncomplicated.
Emconnell-I don't know what to say and it's not much help, but I'm sorry you're in such a difficult situation and I hope things somehow turn around for you.
Joanna-Hooray for a beautiful, strong heartbeat!
I'm 10 weeks today, so I've got a couple weeks at least until my second trimester, but I'm really looking forward to being more active and having more energy for my boys (DH included). I'm really hoping that I'll be able to start a garden this year and actually keep it living and get some delicious veggies from it...it's something I've never been able to do even though I want to. Both of my parents have incredibly green thumbs, but I have not inherited it from them!
I had my first appointment with my midwife today and it took her a while to find it, but we heard my baby's heartbeat!
It was in the 150s and absolutely wonderful! There is some doubt about my dates since I'm still nursing my last baby and not necessarily regular cycle-wise yet, so I'm getting a dating ultrasound, probably sometime this week. I've never had an u/s at this point in pregnancy before.
