Oh yeah...and if you were wondering about the meaning behind Carnelian- the stone I picked out, here it is! Enjoy!!
The energy of carnelian resembles a peaceful, warm afternoon filled with genuine happiness. Its joyful energy has a nourishing and protective quality to it. Carnelian has courage, confidence and creativity at its core; all these qualities being combined in a calm and grounded kind of way.
I am in tears right now. Just got my beads they are so totally awesome and inspiring!!!!! The messages really hit my heart and I 'm so grateful for this opportunity to know such a great group of women. Thank you ladies so much for participating. I almost wish our journey didn't have to end. I also forgot to send some quotes along with my beads but I'll post some of them here.........Again, thanks for making this a reality, I'm sure I'll treasure these beads for years to come.
Life only demands from you the strength you possess.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
When you have come to the edge of all the light you know and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly."
The power and intensity of your contractions cannot be stronger than you, because it IS YOU.
I also got the beads today. Thank you so much GISDIVA for all that you did, and all of you for the beads and energy and inspiration! I am already having a particularly teary day, but seeing the beads and reading all of the notes that came along is really opening the floodgates! Here is what I wrote to send along with the bead I chose. (I only wrote out 10 or so of them before my hand got tired of writing and my 3yo got tired of watching me write, so I figured I'd post it... much easier!)
I chose the Jasper bead for several reasons. I really liked the shape, for one. It is round in the middle and tapers at the head and foot, kind of like me! Also, Jasper is said to "endow its wearer with confidence and power", while also being a stone associated with nurturing and protection. Is is the stone of Isis, who is the protector of women (especially mamas and children). These things all resonated with me and I thought "who couldn't use a little confidence and power in that labyrinth of labor?" One other thing that I have heard, but can't find any supporting notes on the interwebs is that Native Americans saw Jasper as a stone that linked them to their past. It kept them mindful of their ancestors and beliefs, and reminded them to pass this heritage on to the next generation. This also spoke to me.
Blessings to you all!
Yellow to me means sunshine, warmth, light, and joy. As the month of August approaches, I am sending all of you positive thoughts and warmth for a smooth, beautiful birth filled with joy.
Just checked the mail and got them! Everyone chose such beautiful and meaningful beads! Thank you everyone, and especially GISDIVA!
I was too tired and lazy to include a message with my beads (the small, red ones) but I chose them because the roundness reminded me of our growing bellies, and the red made me think of strength and passion.
I cried when I opened my beads, and DH was like "but isn't this a good thing?" Ha ha.
They are all so beautiful and I feel so happy and blessed to be a part of this group!
I didnt include any explanations or wise words with my beads, but I will say this:
My beads came in a set with three different tones, but in general I chose them because they were brown like me :-) and the desert where I live! The flower design seemed feminine, but because they are metallic, I thought of strength too. So earthy, feminine, strong. Yes. I think of all the months and changes we all have been through and I feel so excited for all of us. Many blessings as we pass through these last few weeks in our journey towards birthing our babes!
I got my beads today! They arrived as I was meeting with my doula. They are SO beautiful and I feel so honoured to have received them! I've been having a rough few days emotionally about feeling "strong" enough to birth this baby....your messages and just the beads themselves arrived at just the right time.
I didn't include a message for everyone with mine but I chose the natural wooden beads as they seemed earthy and grounded to me. I love being outside and feel at peace when I'm really connected with the natural environment. I hope everyone feels connected to whatever provides them with peace :)
