There is a CNM group @ the local hospital but I don't love how corporate it feels.
I am definitely not paying anyone who won't tell me their real & current stats this time!
What would your dream care provider be like?
An OB who would come to my house for appointments, has a real couch in his office when I do have to visit three times over the pregnancy, and who would basically hang out nearby while the midwife, DH, and I worked the birth either alone for days in the hospital, or at home. He'd show up afterwards to say congrats (unless something went sideways, in which case, he'd be the acual person at the hospital to take care of me not some random dr). Ditto the evidence based care, and if I said, no IV period unless I'm in actual trouble, he'd actually listen.
I've got mine! She was an EMT for 20 years, and has been a midwife for almost that long. She's a master herbalist and pretty much Ina May's clone. :) I love her. She's very hands off unless she needs to be, which is ideal for me since I have anxiety and PTSD from my first birth.
She also does the best blood draws of anyone I've ever been to and is excellent at stitches.
