New to Columbus and soon to be new mom!

Hi!

My husband and I moved to Columbus, OH a little over a year ago and just found out we're going to have our first baby! We are ecstatic, but also a little nervous. We have no family near us and haven't met many new people here yet.

Any new moms out there in the Clintonville/Central Columbus area?

Hi there, mama! I live in North Linden (borders Clintonville) and I am also expecting my first. I'd love to connect with more mamas in the area!

Hi There!

I'd love to connect with some new moms around here too :)

I'm in Old North, just south of Clintonville.

When are you due?

We are due in early September and soooo excited! I'd love to meet up and chat sometime. I have a few other friends with little ones or who are currently expecting, too, so perhaps I can introduce you to some new friends.

My family is thinking of moving to Columbus, my husband has a job offer there. You said you have lived there for a year? I am sooo curious, how do you like it? We are in Southern California right now so it would be a big move. And congrats on the baby on the way! :)

lrreloh - I sent you a PM!

Athora80 - Columbus is nice but it is very different from the west coast! I came from Seattle and experienced some major culture shock when I got here. I also desperately miss the mountains and oceans! But Columbus is also a cool town with lots of fun stuff happening. There is a strong arts and music scene, and lots of farmers markets and independent businesses. It doesn't have a big city feel at all. I highly recommend visiting if you can before making a decision! Let me know if you do and I'll try to help you see what you want to see. smile.gif

Athora- I agree completely with what Catzia said. Columbus is awesome and I'm very happy we made the move here. I moved from NYC, but I was ready to make the change to a small city. I'll always love New York, but I got tired of the never ending stress and the housing costs were getting out of control. Columbus was a very welcome change for me and I find life here more refreshing. People are nicer, streets are cleaner, it's got a fun artsy local vibe, and people who live here really seem to care about what goes on here. The thing I miss most about New York is the ocean, so I can only imagine how tough that may be to give up if you're already living in Southern California.

Definitely try and visit and see how you like it!
