I only have a Moby wrap that I got to begin with and a NATIBABY ring sling in a Large that I got off of a swap group on Facebook. I have a Baby Bjorn that I bought before Gray was born at a consignment sale, but quickly figured out that it was crap. I heard that the Baby Bjorn comfort was better, so I ordered one new and I don't like it much better. So I ordered an Ergo from Ebay because it wasn't very expensive (used) and hate the color, so I'm waiting to order an Ergo or a Beco in a print that I like. Gray likes the ring sling, but he's not so big on the Moby so I have been skeptical of ordering another wrap... Maybe it's just too hot. I'm not sure. I'll be selling both Baby Bjorns and the Ergo to fund something new. I really want the zebra Ergo, but I'm thinking the Beco might fit me better. :)

I love my Beco. My only confusion is where my son's feet go. We use the infant insert and it would seem a stretch to get his legs up and out the sides, based on where his hips line up. Currently his feet end up between my belly and the waistband, but that doesn't seem quite right either. Seasoned babywearer's, thoughts?

I actually took our infant insert out pretty early on with our beco butterfly II. Right now I put DD in a bit of a frog position so her feet are still inside the carrier but pointing out. Then her but kind of scoots down toward the bottom of the carrier and her head rests on my chest. She always falls asleep nearly immediately in it so I feel she must be quite comfortable.

I'm unable to picture what you are describing. Can you post a picture?

Will try to get one tomorrow.

wow you have a lot! I like the zebra Ergo. I have the gray Galaxy one with the white stars and my husband has black "performance" one (it's manly looking, ha). There are babywearing groups so you could always join one and try out their wraps. Both of my babies love them, they fall asleep instantly. Though I agree, it's been super hot here and I haven't been wrapping them. I'm thinking of making a mesh ring sling to use for the summer.

I don't know if the beco insert is like the ergo, but our ergo insert has this cushion that the baby's butt sits on so the weight of their body is on their butt, and their legs are below them almost like they are in a chair but raised up a bit froggy leg style. If that makes sense. :P Lots of people have given up the insert and just use the cushion (the ergo cushion is removable) or fold up a blanket to act as the cushion so their little one isn't in so much material (those inserts are HOT). I think it works okay but my husband prefers the actual insert and cushion.

Yeah, I have ended up with more carriers than wraps and found that I probably like the ring sling the best, but the Ergo is VERY comfy. I actually ordered mesh ring sling last night for swimming. I found one on Etsy that has the pleated shoulder so it will be more comfortable. I read that the Taylormade water ring slings are fine, but would be better with a pleated shoulder. If its not too stretchy, I'll probably end up wearing him in it when we are just outside too.

My DH wants to buy the performance Ergo. Thoughts? Is it that different than the original?

Report from DH at home is that our LO "hates" the Performance Ergo. He tried to put her in it three times and she cried and screamed each time...... thoughts? Ideas?

Jas she been in other carriers happily? My son usually fusses, sometimes screams, but within minutes is either looking around contentedly or asleep.

Yes, I use the moby and baby k'tan. (In both LO has feet down now). No SSC carriers yet. I can't speak to what DH is doing or how she is positioned since I am at work but I find her reaction surprising. Trying to avoid returning it ...... should we wait and see what happens when she is older and weighs more?

Used the Moby with Cody facing out this morning. It was great. Much cooler and he loved looking around. I had forgotten he could face that way and I am excited to use it for summer now. Yeah!

I got to try out a friends mei tei today for the first time. It was awesome! I am now on a quest for a deal. It'll be perfect for summer!

I have a Baby Hawk mei tei which I love. I've carried my 2.5 yr old on my back with it and he falls asleep.

Here's me using a kangaroo carry with Silas in my ring sling.

For those interested in Ergo, Zulily has them for $60-$70 right now! You have to register, but its a cool site anyway.

I'm not exactly sure of the difference between Galaxy and Performance. All the straps and buckles are the same, they both have hoods, and they seem to be built the same. I think it's just the material that they are made out of that's different. The Galaxy is like a canvas-y type and the Performance is more like an outdoor jacket, to wick away rain and still be breathable.

I've been trying a few different carries with my wraps but I keep getting frustrated. Wiggly babies, feeling awkward doing the carries for the first time, etc, is stressful. Plus the other baby always seems to start crying right when I'm in the middle of wrapping. At any rate, practice, practice, practice. They do love being wrapped once I finally get them in. I think for now I need to learn some carries that I can just pop a baby in rather than try carries that take longer.

I think galaxy is just that print. I also have the problem of baby tolerating the time it takes to wrap. He's really into being on my hip/shoulder and looking around lately, so I am going to see if there's a moby wrap for that.

jessmn, Gray gets so angry while I'm trying to wrap him. He likes it once he's in, though. I know they say that you should only try back carries if you're experienced, but I tried a ruck sack today while DH stood behind me and held Gray so that he wouldn't fall... Complete FAIL! It's so hard to figure out how to reach around and find everything, get both rails tightened and keep them that way... Ugh. More front carries, I guess. I got an Oscha SN in a 2 and our favorite seems to be the Poppins hip carry as of now. Took a few practice runs, but he's nice and supported and we're both happy with it. Do your babies legs get red at their knees when you wrap them? I think I might be tightening the bottom rail too tight, but he hasn't popped the seat so I don't know.

I also scored an Ergo on Zulily today. Well, my awesome mama scored it for me. I don't get on there much, but I do have an account. She's on it every day and orders stuff at least two or three times a week. She sent me a text this morning saying "those ergo things you want are on here!" I told her I needed to sell the Ergo I had and a couple other carriers before I could fund it considering I just bought two new wraps last week and she bought it for me. She's so sweet. I'll have my zebra Ergo now!

Mine get all angry with me, too, especially when I'm trying a new carry and I keep pausing the video and trying to follow the directions and taking forever. I'm going to a new babywearer's meeting on Friday so hopefully they can help me get a little more confident with a few carries. I REALLY want to back carry but am terrified! I'm impressed you tried at least!!

How do you get a seat in a poppins carry? I can't get one for the life of me - their legs turn purple, but if I use less fabric under their butt I worry they'll slip out.
