ugh to being stuck in the hospital. I hope yours has good food to eat!

--------------

I have been off work this week in anticipation for babies coming next week, watching junk tv, reading, and drinking gallons of water. People have been coming over to keep me company, though, and yesterday a friend came over and we made finger puppets to entertain the babies. I made two more today:

If you want to make them, you can find the patterns here: http://brightappleblossom.blogspot.com/2010/12/felt-finger-puppets.html

I just used the pig template and altered it a little to make the penguin. I don't know how to do any of the stitches so I'm just winging it, and I had to look up a video on youtube for french knots for the eyes.

Quinalla, I've been thinking of you all day.  Sorry to hear you have to stay in the hospital but it sounds like you are comfortable (as possible) with the idea that it is best for the babies.

jessmn, that is a cute idea!

EPP, I have nothing to add except that sounds like a lot of fun!

Oh, forgot to add:  We bought a dresser, I sorted out the pantry and 1 of the 3 closets that are still disaster zones from the move, made some decisions about furniture arrangement in our bedroom to fit the pack-n-play and a rocker/recliner for nursing which DH will help with tomorrow and I will probably start on closet #2 tomorrow.  Getting things done...but Saturday we are hosting a dinner for all of the people who helped us move.  The number has grown to 13!  Bah!  I didn't expect it to be this many, everyone said yes!  MIL arrives a week from Saturday and I am trying to get the house settled before she gets here.  That just may not happen.

Anyone else get chiropractic right now?  I had an adjustment today and the chiro adjusted my pubic symphysis (the spot in front of your pelvis where the 2 bones meet).  It was a big OWIEE.  He did warn me, but wow that hurt.  And now I can walk like normal, although baby had a time of it moving and getting comfortable again.  I also have this allergy/sinus thing going on and I've been coughing a lot so my abs have been hurting when I cough.  After the adjustment they didn't hurt anymore...so weird, so effective!

DH and I ran to Target tonight and bought the last few things we needed for this babe. He didn't really want to go, but I told him that it was on my mind and I didn't want thinking about it to keep me up at night. So he gave in and took me luxlove.gif I'm so ready for this baby to get here!

I haven't felt a single BH or anything yet, so I have a feeling it could be awhile. Sigh. So hard to be patient when I want to meet this LO so badly!

Jac - when I went to the chiro several weeks ago she adjusted my pubis and yes OUCH. But it did feel better afterwards.

Katie, I'm glad that things have stabilized for you and that you and the babes are still doing well.  Sorry you have to stay in the hospital, but at least it means you are being well cared for.  If nothing else, you are FORCED to relax!

EPP, the photo shoot sounds fun! I don't think I have anything to add.  I can just picture you with a cigarette in one hand, a martini in the other.  Maybe you could look like you are out prowling for men or something?  I think often women are not supposed to be seen as being sexual beings while pregnant.  Our hormones seem to think otherwise!  In terms of old wives tales, stereotypes, etc. you HAVE to get a picture of you barefoot in the kitchen, of course!

Jess, the finger puppets are so cute!  I hope you are enjoying your down time before the babes arrive.

Jac, you have been a busy girl!  It sounds like you are really getting things sorted.  I hope you can keep things simple for Saturday, 13 people is a large group!  We have a slightly smaller group coming (I think 10??) but I've set the time late enough that people will not expect dinner, just appies and drinks.  I have been going to the Chiro pretty much weekly for a very long time.  She does an adjustment on my pubic symphasis each week, and it is tender but doesn't really hurt too badly.  Probably because I get it done weekly, it isn't as big of an adjustment, if that makes sense.  I swear, I don't know how I would have managed without chiro this pregnancy.

TJ, it's great you are so excited and nice that you can feel organized and done with buying baby stuff.  I dragged DH around a few weekends ago and it felt good to have everything purchased.

Today was my last day of work!!  YAY!  I am so done.  My belly has been killing me.  I don't remember this from last time at all.  I think it's the ligaments under my belly.  I don't know what, if anything, I can do.  I tried wearing my brace yesterday but it dug into my belly and was rather uncomfortable.  So standing and walking are not very fun at the moment.  Ah well, I can spend plenty of time resting now.  love.gif

EP, I LOVE the photo shoot ideas! I hope you'll share them when they are done.

Jac, So glad you are making some progress on things!  That's great!  Funny how party numbers can sneak up like that.  I always think, "oh it's just family coming.  Then I realize that makes 17 of us!

Jess, Those are adorable!  I just realized that the 24th (Your c/s date) is next week.  Wow!

TJ, How great to be ready and i bet that was fun getting everything you needed!  Sounds like way more fun than my trash bag and light bulb Target run where I almost didn't make it the bathroom.

NS, Congrats on your last day of work!  I hope you enjoy your down time before baby arrives!  My belly hurts too. Do you feel like you are carrying lower this time?  I feel like I am this time and it's the first time I've had pain on the lower part of my belly.

I got some sewing done in the nursery today which was good.  Just a pillow cover for the rocking chair and a cover for the changing pad but yay!  My brother came over tonight so he and DH worked a little on the shower walls.  DH decided to move the vanity from the garage into our bedroom.  I'm still unsure of why but I guess it's closer to the bathroom than before.  confused.gif  I'm trying to feel encouraged.

Thanks everyone, DH will bring me a laptop today so I can respond to each of you, but I really appreciate everything. I do like to read and I'll keep having DH bring me DVDs (he brought me the new battlestar galactic a season 1 last night) and I'll have a laptop soon so I will be pretty well set. Still, it sucks obv! I just hope DH will do ok and DD. I have all the bills paid through the end of the month, just need to write the check for daycare Monday, so I'm glad I was keeping ahead on that.

I also am glad for more time as it is more of a chance for baby girl to get head down, we will see! Anyway, time to order breakfast. Luckily the food is quite tasty here, I'll be sick of it eventually, but I get to order from a menu and they have a pretty good variety.

Katie, glad things are going well, so sorry for the boredom tho! But you do get to seriously relax and have alone time before the babes come. Forced, but I bet you'll be happy for it. I bet you are super glad all that stuff at the house is done!

jess, the finger puppets are SO cute! Enjoy your days, I know it is hard to, but they will be gone soon and you will be in another (crazy) world!

jaq, nice that you got some motivation & nesting done! I have been seeing a chiro since Jan and it has made a huge difference, I concur with n, I'm not sure how I would have gotten thru this pg without it! I have not yet tho had the pubis adjusted, we have been mostly focusing on my problem hips lately.

TJ, awesome that you are done with the stuff getting! I'm not...waiting for my shower which is on Tuesday, so I can just fill in the gaps, just a few more days. Next weekend will be my dragging dh around to get last baby stuff wknd.

N, congrats on last day of work! I am still wondering if I'll make it to mine...4 wks to go!

Becky, I feel like I am carrying lower this time, but my belly hasn't started hurting yet. Last time I had to wear the belt thing for a while, to ease that tugging. I wonder if the chiro is helping this time, or that I am not on my feet for my job...could be many factors, but there is still time for that to settle in, yay.

My ILs are coming tomorrow for 5 days and dh is running a half marathon on Sun, so I will be busy...next week I have a busy week at work too, so things should just cruise on by. It is getting really close to May! My co-workers have a pool on when I'll have the baby, so I keep getting these dates thrown at me..."oh, well on May xx, you'll be done, I'm sure!" hahaha...

Yes, exactly!  Isn't that ridiculous?  I'm going to have to be sure to get at least a few hyper-sexual shots.  Thanks for the ideas, ladies!  I'll be sure to share the results.

I also have been seeing a chiro, which has been a godsend.  I saw her on Wednesday and she took one look at me and said, "you're not going to make it another week!"  (Not sure how I feel about that, since I still have a few things to take care of at work!)  She did some pokey, pushey stuff around my pelvis this time - is that the same as what you guys are talking about?  It wasn't particularly comfortable, but for some reason it just made me giggle.  Weird.

On a side note, I may be on here a lot today, since my entire city is on lockdown...I'm also kind of convinced that this baby isn't going to come until she sees that her city has gotten their shit together.  At least, let's hope not.

ee- I've been watching the news when I can from the breakroom at work. Thinking about you and the rest of Boston! Some of the pictures of the empty city are kind of eerie.

Totally!  A lot of the stuff my chiro does makes me giggle, twitch, and feel uncontrollably ticklish.  She was explaining that most people experience pain and ticklishness along a continuum.  She asked if I was the youngest child in my family (which I am), and if I was tickled a lot as a child (which I was, ruthlessly).  It was so crazy!  She said people who were tickled a lot as children seem to experience chiropractic as a more ticklish experience, where those who hadn't been felt it was more painful..

Thinking of you and Boston!  What a horrid week this has been.

That is fascinating to me!  I am also the youngest and very ticklish.  I remember my parents thinking there was actually something wrong with me because I was so ticklish.

Bailey, Is your body still trying to decide on labor or has it stopped for now?

Morning all, had one too high BP yesterday, but got it down pretty quickly and then was even having normal bps later. Babies still looking good and I'm feeling fine. Have a laptop now but not in reach, after breakfast and a shower and stuff will probably grab it and see about posting some more.

BP has been good today, but on my afternoon monitoring baby boy had a decel. They kept me on th monitor and he had another, so now I am waiting to see if I am allowed to eat as dinner just arrived. At best I am sure I will be on the monitors all night. We'll see how it goes. Glad I slept well last night and had a nap for either a sleepless night or whatever else.

Thanks for the updates Katie!  Hope you're hanging in there ok!

Well, the back shower wall is almost done... that's great!  I'm told it will be done and we will be showering in there by next weekend.  We'll see.   I got out for a couple hours today and went to ladies lunch at church.  Wow there were a lot of people there!  It was good to see some friends though.  I sat with a friend that I hadn't gotten together with in a while and it was good to catch up.  We had beautiful weather today too so that was nice!      Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

How are you all in Boston holding up?

Monitors and IV all night, but the resident and nurse at least gave me some broth ans juice before bed. No more decels sice those two, but lots of mild contractions last night until about 2am. It is looking hopeful I will go back on intermittent today and food again, but no word just yet. BP has been behaving at least! Did I mention the a/c at home broke? Need a new heat pump (outside unit) apparently, at least it is the cheaper part, but ugh just what we needed. At least it will still heat and it cooled way off so no one at home is miserable!

Sounds good on the shower cobaby!

Got the go ahead to eat about 10:30am and I ate a lot smile.gif IV out not long after that. I'm not monitoring again without eating right before. Anyway, the on call doc at my practice (who I've met so that's nice) came and said that the decels appear to just be baby compressing his own cord and then moving off which is normal and happen in all pregnancies. She said there is no cause for taking babies out right now. I verified that 37 weeks is my end point assuming I make it that far and she verified that. is the case. When I see my OB next going to verify which date they are using as I've been using 5/24, but sometimes I see 5/22 on there stuff, so that would potentially move it up 2 days. So either May 3rd or May 1st assuming everything keeps going well!

So does that mean you get to go home?

Katie, glad to hear you and the babes are doing well.  I hope you get to go home.  Does that mean that 38 weeks is no longer an option?
