Congrats Marie and Scary Biscuit!!

So I tried castor oil last night. Got cleaned out (which actually felt pretty good, weird as that may be) and had some good ctx, but after my walk this morning, they stopped......again. Seems babe wants to stay in! I keep praying for her birth to be soon

She must not be ready! I've been finding solace in this thought ... I induced w/ DD w/ castor oil, and am really hoping to experience spontaneous labor. So this is helping me make it through the days ... I won't be 40wks til Friday, so I won't pretend to know how you ladies are feeling, but I'm prepared to let this baby hang out in there til she's ready. I am doing lots of power walking, ripe pineapple, and spicies though  :)

Oooh congratulations to all the mamas who have had their wonderful births!!

I am 40w3d today and hoping to get this little one out in the next 48 hours!  Have had a few contractions today that have been a little more intense than the last couple of weeks, but still nothing regular.  I have an appointment at the health centre tomorrow and I suspect they will want to refer me to be induced but I'm going to refuse that for at least another week.  I feel sure that things are going to pick up pace naturally in the next couple of days.  In the meantime I've been eating plenty of fresh pineapple, papaya, mango, dates and spicy food too, going for walks, doing squats, drinking bush tea, walking back and forth up the stairs (much to my cats' bemusement), belly massaging, relaxing and visualising.  This boy must be real comfy in there!

Good luck to amlikam and sweetpea and everyone who is also waiting for labour to start!

We hiked up Mt. Wachusett today (the steep trail! like an endless Stairmaster from Hell!) and I was hoping it might encourage babe. I'm having some contractions, but nothing out of the ordinary. I was having some semi-regular last night too. Been eating 2 ripe pineapples  a week, tons of walking, squatting, etc. Might try sex tonight. We'll see   :/ Losing appetite, but nothing else digestive going on.

Yesterday was my due date.  I've been having on and off contractions some very sharp but nothing more for the past few days.  Lost my mucous plug yesterday morning and this morning in a disgusting don't want to think of it brownish blob yuck!!  My progression at this point is irritatingly slow.

I can't help but feel disappointed.  Like it's my fault that nothing is progressing.  Am I not walking enough? drinking enough water? Why isn't it happening already.  I know I shouldn't be thinking these things but I am.  With DS1 I was in labor for almost 70 hours.  I had 5 minute apart contractions to nowhere the entire time.  I'm trying to keep positive this time as the contractions are different then the last.  But it's really bothering me.  I feel like time is ticking and I don't want to be induced.  I do feel like my labor has started but that I am only in the beginning phase.  I fear being stuck in the beginning again.  My OB is very supportive and assures me that what happened last time was completely rare.  This time "should" progress faster.

Any words of wisdom or similar experiences from those who had a VBAC?  Did you feel the same fears that I am feeling right now?  Once your labor started did you know (another fear.) that you were in labor?

*moving this over from the VBAC thread*

Thank you Naturelle!

I feel for you Lulu. My first VBAC was a long labor (36 hrs total) with a really long beginning phase. My ctx were 3-5 min. apart the entire time. When we knew things were going to take awhile, we decided it would be best for everyone to get some sleep.....everyone but me! How can a laboring mom sleep through the night with painful ctx every 5 min???? Amazingly I was able to rest in between, but it was exhausting work. And then when I was ready to push, it was 6 hrs long. I'm hoping your VBAC goes better than mine, but it's kind of like your body is figuring out what to do. I'm hoping this 2HBAC is quicker!

Best wishes to you!  hug2.gif

Sweetpea you're the only person Ive come across who had a pushing stage almost as long as mine. I pushed for 7-10 hours because my mw let me do physiological pushing instead of directed cuz I just couldn't do it any other way. Anyone I tell about the long pushing phase can't wrap their head it. Like, people literally don't understand how pushing can take that long. Ugh and this was after three nights of no sleep for me. My labor was 4 days from the time my water broke.

I had a cervical lip that the babe couldn't quite get past. It took the mw's two fingers & some strong pushes to get him past. But the Lord let me rest in between contractions & they might have slowed down to be 4-5 min apart. I was so relieved when it was all over with!

Well ladies.....just maybe this is it. praying.gif  Praying, praying, praying this is it. Ctx started at 2pm, mild, but noticeable, and they are gradually becoming more uncomfortable. Maybe I'll have news tomorrow!

On Sunday I gave birth to a Son! Alexander James made his debut after a nine hour labor and came out with a nuchal hand. The mysterious twin was his TWO pound placenta, which I thought was another baby until after I birthed it about forty-five minutes after he was born. What an experience! We are soo in love!!
