what is the earliest age a baby can have an allergy test?

My ds 2 is 8 months old and has been dealing with tummy issues since he was 2 weeks old.  I suspect some allergy if not a sensitivity to something, but its so hard to tell at this point.  He hasnt received any solids yet, and im scared to go down that road without knowing what exactly is causing his issues.  Would a bloodtest be accurate this early in life?  Are there specific tests that are better than others?

Scratch tests are often not accurate until kiddos are 5+.  I think blood tests are younger but I have no experience.

It depends almost entirely on what the allergy could be. With something like Cows Milk Allergy, which is something that only really occurs early in life, it is a relatively simple test that is given very early on. Other food allergies are probably similar. However, I am unsure about any other allergies.

Don't be too worried about solids. Have you considered whether it could be a milk allergy or lactose intolerance? These could line up with him having a bad tummy so early on.

We go to National Jewish and my boy's dr's have always told us to go on symptoms because of the false negatives.
