In the US Rhogham is given 2x, @ 28 weeks and after delivery of + child to a - mother. With my last child, I really debated the 28 week shot, but ultimately got it, because my OB told me there is ALWAYS blood mixing, just usually not enough to sensitize.

Then my baby was born negative, so ultimately it was overkill, but if I can't get the prenatal blood type test, I may go for it again.

Hello all! I just had my NT scan and am finally feeling comfortable enough to join a DDC! I have a technical due date of December 2, but baby is measuring ahead, and my DD came before her due date, so I'm in that awkward place where I don't know which DDC to join. Though I suspect I'll have a late November baby, I hope you guys won't mind me hanging around!

Anyway, I'm 27 and this will be my second. DD will be three this summer. I just graduated nursing school, but don't plan on trying to work in the immediate future, though I'll be taking some classes to further my degree in the mean time.

WELCOME, L!  :)

These boards are great - with a lot of wise, supportive women.

I would be interested in hearing your nt experience, if you'd care to share it on the nt thread:

I am still sure 99% I am not getting the test - but I am interested to hear why you chose to have it done, what it was like for you.

Hello, just joined and I'm happy to be here!

I'm Mary from NJ, my husband Marc and I were married in July and we're expecting a baby girl Dec 23.  I'm a first time mom trying to learn as much as possible.  It's a little overwhelming and scary, I'm happy to have this wonderful resource.

Hi there,

I know im late to the party but been looking for a bunch of like minded Mamas, Im pregnant and Due Dec 25th ( tho seriously who pays attention to due dates anyway haha)

This will be our second baby, we have a Son who is 17months old, planning our first home birth. (DS1 was a very quick, natural hospital birth ( and a 3 hour car ride in labour, whoops, required hospital birth due to his heart having a murmur, all turned out perfectly fine)

We have decided against most all unnecessary interventions. I am having the usual blood tests ( am rhesus negative), but no scans, or gestational diabetes blood test....So far so good, this baby is WAY more active then its brother was and I think it will be bigger ( DS was 9lb2oz) loving the differences between this pregnancy and the last, I was very unwell with my son, I think it was mainly due to high stress levels and working in a office environment where I seemed to pick up every bug, this pregnancy has been so smooth, a lot worse morning sickness but for a much shorter time....

My partner and I live in the Coromandel region of New Zealand, we have one very old dog, and a cat and of course our lovely little Boy Louie, we live just 10min walk from the beach.

Im a baby wearing, breastfeeding ( soon to be tandem feeding!) cloth diapering, co-sleeping, gentle parenting Mama, and My partner is all of those things too except the breastfeeding.....

Hope to get to know you all

Thanks!

Lauren

Hi!

My name is Whitney and I've been kind of lurking around on and off my whole pregnancy so far and have found mothering.com to be so incredibly helpful! I figured it was time to join the due date party and have some fun with you other mamas.

I'm 30 years old and pregnant with my first baby... so nervous and so excited and a million other emotions of course. Pregnancy has been going great so far though my biggest challenge is learning to slow down. I am currently taking prerequisites for naturopathic medical school, but my husband and I decided it was time to start a family rather than waiting until I finish school to do so. It is so hard to let go of the "original plan" we had made regarding school though, the one with no babies until later, especially since this is a second career for me and I feel (self-imposed) pressure to get to the finish line so I can start practicing. Pregnancy has been a lesson in balance - balance between self, family and school - which is likely only a glimpse at what is coming once I become a mother! I'm just trying to take everything in and enjoy the whole process... remembering that "life is what happens when you are making other plans".

Anyhow, nice to meet you all! I look forward to getting to know you better!

Welcome Whiteny! Nothing like a baby to teach us about slowing down and really picking priorities :) Three years after becoming a mother I still struggle with "you can do anything but not everything". It's so hard to slow down sometimes (like right now, when my body is not keeping up with all I want to do).  I digress! Nice to meet you :)

Hello Everyone! My name is Brooke. I am fairly young; 17 years old. I am due December 3rd, and am having a baby girl!

Just a little about me. I am engaged to be married in June to the father of my daughter. This is my first child. I just graduated high school this past June and am now enrolled in a small university in SC. I am majoring in English. We are extremely excited for her arrival, and apparently so is she, considering she has tried to come early three times now. Other than that, the pregnancy has been pretty smooth. I'm pretty late to be joining a forum, but oh well. Better late than never. I'm not sure what else to say. bigeyes.gif
