Anyone See the" 24" Season Finale?

I'm dying to talk to someone about it - for being such a popular show, I don't know anyone (except me!) who watched it up until the finale on Tuesday night!

Anyone else?

Oh, I was really MAD how they killed off Terri in the last few seconds! I felt totally cheated.

So if Nina was just going to kill her, why didn't she do it right away? Why did she bother to tie her up? And then she said, "I'm going to lock you in from the inside and someone will find you soon." My husband thinks that there wasn't really any reason in the storyline behind it--that the writers just didn't want us to know until the very end that she was going to be dead just to have dramatic effect.

All I can think of is that when the person on the phone said, "Make sure there is nothing that can tie you to Germany," that she had to kill Terri after all because she had heard her speaking German.

Do you think they can maintain the pace for another season?

I KNOW - I was very disturbed at Terri's being killed after everything she'd already survived! I DO think it was because Nina realized that Terri heard her ask why she had to go to Germany - but so what? If Nina really didn't want to kill her all she had to do was fake the rest of the conversation on the phone and mention a few dozen other countries! I guess I semi-identified with Terri in terms of being the mother and wife and was really sad about the fact that she was newly pregnant and murdered like that. I sometimes wondered though what Jack was supposed to see in her - she seemed kind of wimpy for him - but like my husband keeps reminding me - it's just a show!

I felt manipulated by the show and now I'm nervous about watching it next season and getting attached to a character and then having him/her be killed off! I don't know how they'll keep up the pace - the whole premise of the show seemed to be the fact that that particular day was the worst day of his life - those 24 hours - now that they're over, I'm not sure how the show will proceed - still hour by hour I presume, but it's kind of anti-climatic at this point. Frankly, I don't really care who Nina is working for, nor do I care what happens to Nina - maybe they'll have her escape and then the show will focus on him hunting her down?

Sorry to go on and on - I am just very happy to have someone to talk to about it!!!

Wait a minute...I watched it, too, except for a couple of minutes at the end. Did you see her kill Terri? I thought she just tied her up and was planning to ?blow up the bldg or something. Well, that stinks. Does make way for #2 though.

How sad.

Q: How'd you feel when the senator ditched his wife? I must admit I was pleased. She was too politically ambitious and conniving for him.

At the very beginning, wasn't there someone on the Palmer staff that took a phone call from the woman who blew up the plane?

Does anyone remember that?

I think there is something more with Mrs. Palmer than political ambition--she's just bad news. Seems sort of funny though that Palmer, who seems to be SO good, would have been with her for all those years without seeing that side of her.

BusyMommy - no, you don't actually see her kill Terri. You actually have no idea that she's dead until Jack is running all over the building trying to find her and then the horrendous last scene is him finding her in the chair facing the wall and not realizing she's dead until he turns her around and sees two bullet wounds in her torso. Then it goes on to him untying her and cradling her in his arms on the floor and crying and apologizing and having black and white flashbacks of their times together after he and she got back together. Hideous!!!

3girls1boy - I have to admit that I didn't see the first 5 or so episodes so I don't know. I plan to catch up when the re-runs start. Palmer it seems was so caught up with Sherri in their mutual goal of attaining the White House that he didn't realize that she had evolved into such a cold-hearted freak until it slapped him in the face over and over again that day with the attempt to take the tape, the sick set-up with the woman who worked for the campaign, and then the out and out decision to let Jack's daughter die as opposed to risking the campaign.

I thoroughly enjoyed his dumping of her!

What really puzzles me is the episode in which Terri finds out she's pregnant. She has a pelvic exam and ultrasound. They tell her the source of her pain was a rupturing ovarian cyst. Okay. "What would make it rupture?" "Possibly being raped, or possibly enlargement of the uterus due to pregnancy." and they give her a pregnancy test. Now, I haven't been pregnant yet and don't know all the details, but even at 2 weeks wouldn't they have been able to see something on the ultrasound?:

I think you're right EnviroBecca! That whole hospital situation is confusing in retrospect. Supposedly Nina was worried that the fake FBI agent she ran into in one of the hospital rooms was trying to kill Terri and her daughter so she hustled them out of the hospital. And then you see him with a gun apparently out to get them. What's that all about if Nina was the real bad guy?

You know what? I don't think the writers decided that Nina was going to be one of the bad guys until the very end.

Plus, in the hospital, how did Gaines have all that surveillance in the hospital? They didn't know that the two guys were going to have trouble with Kim and Janet and that Janet was going to be run over by a car.

DH thinks that Gaines tapped into exiting hospital security to be able to follow Jack around.

Hmm interesting about Nina and the FBI agent.

3girls1boy, you might be right about them not deciding until the close to the end that Nina was the bad guy, but I would think that as they plotted it out and kept their options open they would not have made an error like that. They always knew that Nina could be the bad guy.

I was really thrown by the fake murder of Nina. I thought that was brilliant.

Oh and the amnesia thing was idiotic: :

In fact, I thought Terri was pretty annoying altogether.
