So, I am 18 weeks with my 5th baby- and still waiting to feel that little stinker flutter and flip
who is feeling their little bug already?
With my last two babies, I was feeling flutters and flips much earlier than this
KellyandKatie, I'm definitely noticing a difference in the amount of movement that I feel with this baby, too (baby #4). I've always felt them move early and often, so it freaks me out that I don't feel this one as much. However, I saw with my own two eyes it squirming like CRAZY on the ultrasound last week, so I know he or she is moving - I'm just not feeling it. I suspect that my placenta is anterior and to the right (where baby also happens to be) because I can always get placental flow on the doppler over on the right side. I'll read my ultrasound report tomorrow and find out for sure. Plus, if I feel something it is to the left, further supporting my theory.
People act like I am unreasonable because I think I should be feeling the baby more at this point (they all think it is too early), but in my previous experiences I did. In the last couple of days I have felt something every day, but typically only one or two LIGHT kicks in 24 hours. That gives me hope that I'll feel more soon!
can't wait for the movements to.. "kick" in. :P i'm 16wks and pregnant with my first baby, so i've read i'm gonna be one of the last to feel it most likely. the thing is, i don't even know what to watch out for. i sometimes feel a stinging pain from a specific location inside my belly, or sometimes it feels like somthing's moving around in there but then it could very well just be gas. :P
all you experienced mamas, how does it feel when the baby starts to move??
My placenta IS anterior! So, I guess I'll feel stuff later :)
vc2013, the initial movements for me felt like rolling motions in my low abdomen/pelvis progressing to a guppy flipping around and finally to typical kick feelings. One day you'll feel it, and definitely know and may be able to think back to other times that you felt the same. It's so neat, you'll really enjoy it.
thanks for the description, rrs!
i'm 17 weeks and felt a jab towards my left side while at work. it really hurt!
i don't know how else to describe it other than that it was like one big sting. i held my side for a while.
could this be the baby?? or are the jabs i sometimes hear about something else?
Well, I'm 21 weeks, 2 days with my first, and I THINK I may have finally felt movement yesterday. I'm not sure, as everyone has been telling me it'll feel like a flutter or a butterfly, but this was more like a kick! I was laying down, when all of a sudden I felt a jab below my belly button. I'm still not sure it wasn't gas though, especially because it felt different than I thought. I've been pretty impatient as I thought I'd have felt something weeks ago. Last week at the midwife appt she heard movement on the doppler, but still!
