I find myself going through phases of what kinds of foods I'm into. Last week it was sweet stuff (although healthy!! I make everything myself at home, gluten free and sugar free and dairy free!)... this week it's FINALLY gearing more towards fresh raw, vegan salads and less of the sweet stuff.
there was a brief period where I went through a salmon phase... around week 7-9... I wanted salmon every day, in every way, even at like 10 in the morning.. but now I don't feel like it at all.
I still admit i'm really into these gluten free chia seed english muffins, toasted, with vegan cream cheese ( made out of tofu... this is the only soy product I still eat). It's such a comfort food for me- i grew up in new england eating bagels and cream cheese... this is like 1/4th of the calories of a bagel and cream cheese and way healthier though, so i don't feel very guilty. I eat a toasted english muffin with tofutti spread probably every other day for breakfast or lunch (with a little smoothie for breakfast, or a vegetable thing/salad for lunch). I also went through an ice cream phase (although it was the luna and larry's coconut bliss made with coconut milk!!!).... but that is over. I made a rule we just can't have ice cream in the house- it's a going out, every once in a while thing-- my husband likes to eat it (and like 1/3 the jar of almond butter/peanut butter) in the middle of the night when he has insomnia. I'm surprised he's so fit... it really makes no sense to me-- he's in his mid-forties and has an 8 pack and everything and has been getting up and raiding the pantry ever since we've been together (and apparently this has been an issue for the last 11 years-- correlated with his stressful job). but that's another post entirely...
i'm also really into raw vegan chocolate right now... magnesium, antioxidants and love chemicals!! and I just bought a new jar of spirulina and I'm getting back into superfood smoothies every morning!
