Hello everyone! I've looked for advice about eating stinging nettles during pregnancy (I'm about 26 weeks right now) and haven't found much. Does anyone have any advice about this? I know nettle tea is often recommended, but since I'm no herbalist I don't know how the fresh plant differs. I've read that nettle is a mild diuretic, that it's high in iron and other minerals, and that it aids in blood clotting. Any other effects positive or negative) I'm not aware of?
I should add that I haven't eaten nettles before, so I'm not even sure I'll like them! I'd be shocked if I didn't though; I haven't met a leaf I didn't like. I mention this because I'm pretty bad at eating seasonal food in moderation (I ate nearly five gallons of ramps this past two weeks). If I know there's some dangerous aspect of eating five pounds of nettles in a week, I'll make more of an effort. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give!
