It's officially spring here and it has been rainy for days now. Yesterday it was just sprinkling so I did put a hat on DD and take her to the park. But today the whole family is home and we all have work to do on the computer. DD is being a good sport about it, but I feel bad... Once it stops raining maybe we'll go for a walk in the dog walk area of my apartment... What do you do on days it's rainy, or you've had to work, or for whatever reason you feel your poor child has been neglected :) ?
What do you do on rainy days?
It rains all the time here in Oregon! We try to go out everyday. I totally feel bad when we don't. On those days that it is just too wet and cold I try to do a few activities with DS. We water play in the kitchen sink and we paints pictures, and sometimes we just stay really busy doing housework like emptying the dryer and vacuuming and I pretend to gobble him up...lol
Otherwise I also try really hard to include her in chores since she loves to help. If its not freezing cold, I will still take her to the library in a stroller. The winter is way worse for me than rain: -20C weather plus wind chill, a toddler who HATES mittens/gloves but screams if her hand touches snow, etc. When we're absolutely stuck indoors, I try to have lots of books accessible and will pick up a bag of balloons so we have something light and nondestructive to bat around. Lots of crayons/paper/colouring books also help and DD adores her magna doodle ($1 at a yard sale). Another thing that keeps her happy and occupied is a bunch of dry beans she can transfer from one bowl to another or a pile of change she can put in a bowl. I'm trying to get up the courage to try finger painting or shaving cream on a plastic tablecloth but at six months pregnant, I'm a little skittish lol. Anyways I hope you find something useful in my post
