stuck sewing second side of zipper - need help/advice (photos)

Hello, took me 24 hours to understand why i couldn't add a new post to my previous plea for help so here's the latest photo and what i'm having trouble with ...

so, this is going (one day !) to be a jewelery pouch

the inside is jeans (so that i can use safety pins to pin pendants)

all seemed about all right until i finished sewing the first side of the zipper (around 3 of the sides) .... but i haven't managed to align the second side of the zipper before i sew it

SO, am now wondering

do i rip off the stitching for the second side of the zipper ? and start fixing it again ?

is there any trick i could learn for making sure that both sides align "properly" before i sew it back on again ?

any suggestion welcome ... TIA

The fabrics are you are using so cool. Anyone have suggestions on how to get the zipper in?

Not sure I'm understanding your problem.  Is the fabric stretching or pulling while you sew the other half of the zipper, so that the fabric doesn't match up after the way it should after it's zipped?  It's best to sew the both sides of the zipper in the same direction, then if the fabric is stretching a bit as you sew, it's at least stretching in the same direction as it did on the other side.  If you are still having trouble, you can try zipping up the zipper (with the one side still sewn)  and marking across both sides of the zipper at key points that you need to line up.  For instance, you could mark where the zipper tape hits the corners of your bag, and make sure to hit those spots when you are sewing the other side of the zipper.  Make any sense?

I figured that trick out when I was doing alterations in a store.  We had this one brand of skirts that always had broken zippers, so I had to get good at replacing them without messing up the line at the waistband.  Sadly, I think my mad zipper skills have gotten rusty since those days.  The last couple I tried to put in did not go so well.

many many thanks for your advice ... my sewing machine has been at the repair shop lately

& i've had more urgent projects to tackle these last week ends

so my zippered pouch is still in stand by ...

it totally make sense, not that the fabric i use it that stretchy ... but a few milimeters of variation between both sides WILL show anyway

i will also mark the fabric at different intervals

thanks again !
