I plan to make my own tooth paste. It will be some sort of xylitol tooth paste. Recipes would be awesome, if you have one!
I have peelu xylitol gum that they can chew on from time to time. Particularly when we aren't home, I think. I plan to add some xylitol to a bottle of water clearly marked for each child to sip on throughout the day. That was a suggestion from Dr. Ellie. She said 5-10 grams xylitol total per day administered in at least 5 separate occasions throughout the day to keep the ph level so
that bacteria can't grow.
Calc Fluo and Calc Phos - not sure how much to give here, but we are needing to heal cavities. There aren't any breaking or chipping or anything yet, but cavities showed up on x rays.
Fermented Cod Liver Oil and Butter Oil - I think I'll start off with 1/2 teaspoon per day.
Removing all grains and sugars in the beginning. Once we have significant healing taking place, I may slowly allow some back in.
The two kids with cavities are my 9 year old and 4 year old. The 7 year old and 19 month old don't have any.
I looked up the MI Paste, but it's really expensive and I'm already seriously pushing the limits here with my husband on getting the FCLO and BO. Do you all think it's a necessity at this point?
Anything else I'm missing?
