After doing much research, there's little risk in going over until you reach 43 weeks. Although, I don't see any harm in doing NST's to be sure everything looks good in there. I had my third at 41 +2 (according to doc due date, but my personal due date had me at 41.) And my other 2 had come before my due date. But, it went very well and all was just fine. A few more days or a week more of being pregnant, isn't that much. It's hard because you are impatient and uncomfortable, but in the bigger picture. :) However, if there is a medical reason to induce - high blood pressure, out of control GD, etc, then I'm fully supportive of induction. The bad thing is that average gestation, from what I remember, for a first time mom is 41 weeks. If I were you and ended up in that situation, I would opt for an NST rather than induction because induction can lead to unnecessary interventions or a c-section. Baby may even struggle more after being born because of interventions or because they just weren't ready to be born.
