Can I grow more radishes from this bulb that's sprouting?

I noticed the radishes in the fridge were still growing. Or their green leaf tops were. So I kept one aside and stuck it in a drinking glass with just enough water to cover the little root.  Sure enough, tiny, fluffy roots are growing and the leaves are shooting up.

So I figure I can transplant it to soil soon, but I have a hunch I'm not going to get more bulbs from it. It would have to flower, be pollinated by another fertile radish plant, and drop seeds, and those seeds would create new radishes, right?

That's okay, I'm not actually that fond of radishes.  Might be fun to grow it, though. My mom frequently had an avocado pit in a glass sprouting in a window. She said it would grow into a tree but it wouldn't produce more avocados.

Are there fruit and veggies that will sprout at home, that will then make more fruit/veggies?

Leeks can resprout and bloom, if enough is left on the bottom.  Taproot veggies can, if enough is left on.

I always think-- why not??  Vegetables have some of the most beautiful flowers--carrots and leeks are my favorite, especially growing side by side, and cilantro as well.

Of course, who Knows What you will get when/if they reseed themselves.  I have had leeks, carrots, tomatoes, kale, edible pod radishes, etc reseed nicely, but in my house in town (small, rural), there was too much Queen Anne's Lace, and I could not get real carrots for the life of me--they all wanted to turn wild.  But in my more urban garden in Seattle, carrots reseeded like mad and we reaped excellent harvests.

So, of course I would plant that radish!
