Nettle: I wanted to say you are awesome for taking about cosleeping and intimacy. I actually conceived this baby while DD slept in her twin next to our bed. It was a little weird but at the time (New Years Eve!) we had house guests and couldn't use the 2nd bdrm which was SUPPOSED to be for DD and ended up my office/swanky adult lounge! Lol not really... But we use the bed in there sometimes! It's all very spontaneous which I think makes sex fun. I am annoyed and insulted when talking about this with other parents (my SIL) who disagree and say the only place for sex is "the marriage bed". I say, how BORING! Not to mention I got more sleep then everyone I knew with a baby at the time and I completely and utterly attribute it to cosleeping. You'd think someone would take it from me! wink1.gif

Serena-- I hear ya on it being a foreign concept but I think you should stay open minded about it! I did with DD and we used a cosleeper at first (Arms Reach makes one) and that was more annoying then just having her next to me. Once she hit 4 months she was a Velcro baby so I didn't have a choice. She wouldn't let me put her down!

I got a great amount of sleep last night and woke up today with lots of energy! I find that if I get around 10 hours I do great all day-- no gross out over food and smells (yep still get it on occasion ugh), no brain fog/lack of focus and I'm not yawning all day. But c'mon, 10 hours of sleep? That's almost impossible.

Instead of throwing away old t-shirts today while doing some organizing I broke out the Singer and am currently sewing a t-shirt quilt! SO COOL and easy! Should be done in a few days. We also rearranged our bedroom and put away all the clothes! So productive huh? I think I'm nesting early...

Hi! We leave in 5 hours (at 5a) for a four day drive to Kansas from Seattle. I'm excited. We're visiting DH's family. This is good point in pregnancy to be in the car a lot, and I'm so thankful to have a van for this road trip! We have a lot packed and we're waking the kids up early so we can get a good start and get to Boise to have time to swim in the hotel pool before dinner. thumb.gif

How's everyone's energy? I feel great right now, almost normal energy which I didn't expect with two kids running around. I'm thankful for it while it lasts.

Yay I love Seattle and I bet spring time is flipping amazing. I think my favorite thing was visiting the EMP museum. Have you been? My almost-3 year old at the time LOVED it.

Oooh I can almost smell the coffee and evergreen trees now. Love Seattle!

Thanks Tillymonster! I'm glad you're starting to feel better as well.

My energy is still not great, but the fact that I feel better makes everything better in general. I'm also a lot happier and no longer dread each day. The weather is also improving, although it's still a bit cold and it's windy.

I'm also on day 6 of no sugar and I'm not even struggling! I'm hoping to have a lot more motivation and energy once all the sugar is out of my system, then I'll be able to get more done. I am still doing a lot more than I was which is good, early nesting I guess!

I wish I had this early nesting bug. I seem to be able to keep up on the daily house stuff now, but I can't get myself to tackle the other stuff. Decluttering. Putting all my laundry away and sorting through clothes I can't wear because of warmer weather and the growing belly. Putting at least half of dd's toys in a bin, she has way too many. I have my anatomy scan Thursday and if all is well I plan to paint a dresser and crib. Maybe I'll get the nesting bug in a couple months. I really hope I do!

So far this looks like a quiet week for me, work wise anyway. That means I need to make sure to get stuff done around the house. It's very easy for me to slack off when work is slow and say "oh, I deserve a break, it'll be busy next week" but it's a trap.

Today I plan on getting groceries for the week and getting the laundry done. Maybe I'll work up the courage to go stand in line at Comcast to go complain about my bill (long story), I'm trying to decide if it's worth fighting over $8.

I really should look into more organization for the house, cleaning up clutter etc. and this would be a good week to do that.

I'm starting to feel bigger, my belly now feels like it's getting in the way when I sit down, and yesterday I caved and went to REI for some larger shirts. I'll be able to wear them after pregnancy too, they're just a looser cut.

All in all I'm feeling good about this week, it's going to get hot. And, nettlesoup, it's always sunny here. When I moved from Belgium to New Mexico it didn't take long to get used to 360 days of sun a year...

Tillymonster, if you have more shirts than you know what to do with you can always try the cloth diaper pattern too. http://www.adventuresinfluff.com/2011/08/how-to-sew-your-own-recycled-t-shirt.html

Cook, enjoy your trip!

This will be my week. I'm getting her Wednesday. =)

Tuesday, I'm going to Nashville for a concert.

Other than that, work, work, work.

mamamash, I'm guessing I feel like you: just not very interested in getting stuff ready though I know it needs to be done. I have to make myself do it and I know rationally that I can just do a little every day, I don't have to do it all, but I really am not motivated.

Aww puppy!! What kind? You're brave CDsmom. A puppy while pregnant would be way too much for me. Really a puppy anytime is too much for me haha. My dh trained our dogs thank goodness. They are adults now, 5 and 7 and they still drive me nuts.

Yep, exactly dakipode I have to force myself to do anything out of the normal daily stuff. I did get my dd's newborn stuff (crib bedding, hospital outfit, picture outfits from her first year, etc) in a space bag. That cleared up some space in her closet. We plan to put the crib and dresser for the baby in there even though I plan to have her in our room for awhile. I have to make room for another little wardrobe in the closest somehow. But, I can't do it all in one day. I've noticed my uterus starts acting up after about an hour and a half max of cleaning or moving about. I get crampy legs and a general crampiness in my abdomen and back. The only way I can describe it is it feels like I'm going to start my period. So when I start feeling like that I know it's time to sit down and chug some water. It does make me nervous though. I have my anatomy scan scheduled Thursday and I will definitely be asking about my cervix length.

She's a Dalmatian. We've got a German Shepherd who's 4 and Pitbull who's 1, too. Our family will be complete after this puppy and this baby, haha.

We also have two cats that are five.

Brave girl, CDsMom1031 for getting the puppy!  I have to tell you DD1's birthday was this past week and she was asking for pet mice (she really wanted a guinea pig, but we're at max animal capacity right now, IMO!) and I was dreading even getting something that is basically a glorified fish!  I am sure your family will handle it well and she'll be a treasured pet for years to come!

I did DD1's 4th birthday party at our house yesterday, which was pretty impressive for me.  I am usually very slow to warm up to large groups and I consider myself somewhat introverted except when I know someone well, so hosting a fete, even just with family, is tiring!  We just did hot dogs, macaroni salad, and chili and we set up a paddling pool in the backyard.  Oh, and the pinata...always the pinata!  That's my SoCal roots showing there!

I could use the nesting bug that some of you have.  House is a wreck ( a little worse than usual, post party!) and I cannot get started on this second baby bootie I have on my knitting needles.  There are other things I'd like to do (like a shawl for me) but blerg, my motivation for domestic duties is nil.  However, I did have a HUGE jump in my weight gain this month (8 pounds in 5 weeks!) so I started running again today.  I think I am going to stick to Wii Fit in the future though - it's too hot to be hoofing my chubby pregnant self all through the neighborhood!  Any other indoor exercise ideas?  I am also hoping to avail myself of the in-law's pool this summer, although it's hard to get exercise in there since I'm usually with the kids!

Oh man CDsmom you are a saint. We have a pitbull too, she's the almost 7 year old. She is still crazy full of energy. She seriously has not slowed down at all. We have a 5 year old rotty mix with a knee injury, so he's somewhat mellow. We also had 2 cats but when we moved about 6 months ago we adopted them out to my inlaws. I at least get to see them still. Your pit is gorgeous. I had a German Shepard growing up so I have a major soft spot for them.

I wish I had the energy or ambition to do any sort of exercising aidenn. I just can't bring myself to do much of anything. My energy is still super low

That's half the reason I want another young dog. My Shepherd is getting older and doesn't keep up with my Pit. And she gets bored easily then goes crazy. Dalmatians are crazy and have almost the same body structure/size as my Pit does, so I'm hoping to give my Shepherd a break with this one, haha. Poor guy is constantly wore out.

I'm loving this thread with all the puppies and kitties! I've got one angry kitty and for now that's it. I really really want a dog because I've never owned one.

I kind of sort of have the nesting bug, but it's being defeated by the fact that we're moving in June so I am really compelled to start "de-nesting" in preparation. I'm selling our huge flatscreen TV this week and my fixie which are the big things we are downsizing on which should help. I never use the things anymore anyway. I hate moving SO MUCH.

Awe...doggies! We were hoping to rescue a new doggie baby as soon as we moved back stateside, but found out our following move may make pet moves difficult, so we figure we shouldold off...ar least until we get there. greensad.gif (we will only be ain't GA until spring, then my husbands army school is done and we are off to the next place.)

I have nothing to do tomorrow, which is rare for me. I do plan on running to the store because I want store bought hummus badly...eyesroll.gif I. Really just need a fantastic hummus recipe but have never been able to make one I adore. Anyway, I was hummus badly...so that is my project for tomorrow.

Other than that I started reading Divergent and am enjoying it. I needed a "page turner" so it works,

I was stalking the crafting thread and wishing I was talented. I plan on re-learning to sew as soon as we get back to the states and I can set up my sewing machine without a huge transformer to power it....but I am not crafty. A friend of mine is making a baby quilt for me with the Michael Miller Backyard fabric...I am excited about craftiness coming to me.

We had our movers come today to do an inspection of our stuff...he didn't think it would take the movers more than 2 days to pack our stuff...but we have a third day scheduled. I am not looking forward to having nothing but gov furniture in our house for an entire month....then moving into a hotel.

I am also starting to feel uncomfortable..and don't remember feeling this way at 21 weeks in the past....eh.

Have you tried making baba ganoush? Eggplant instead of chickpeas. I can't seem to make good hummus at home, but this is really easy and always turns out well.

I have not, but that is a good idea!
