It's a hundred degrees here. I figured the night sweats were from that and babies body heat in bed with us. Sleeping on top of a big towel to catch breast milk leakage. I hate waking up to a wet bra. So I just go without. Plus makes night feeds easier.
Bathing babies about every 5-6 days. I run a bubble bath with the baby soap and just take them in with me. They love to float with my hand under their heads and it's relaxing for me too.
Wondering, what is the most unexpected thing you've done to soothe/calm baby??? We've started a new bedtime routine with the fussier of our twins. Sierra throws one big fit every night before she passes out for 5 hours. The fastest way to quiet her is on the ATV. Fiance puts her in his infantino carrier and rides in slow circles around the back yard. She'll cry the second the motor is off if he doesn't put her all the way to sleep. It's that or I have to walk 3 miles with her.
I was getting night sweats all night, every night while pregnant. But as soon as this kiddo arrived? No more sweating...even though it's been much warmer weather and we don't have AC. I'm so grateful it's over. I often only get a chance to shower in the evening, and it would be so frustrating waking up gross after having just showered the night before.
Today is the day US medical students have to finalize their school choice, and withdraw their acceptances from all the other schools. We know we probably won't hear anything about waitlist movement from Calgary until a few weeks from now. But we could hear any time from the two Ohio schools. So now we're not just in limbo, we're in a very tense, compulsively checking e-mail, losing our minds kind of limbo.
Little Dude has been SO fussy the last few days. For a couple of days I thought he had finally moved on from the waterfall-like spitting up, but he's back at it again. A friend and a midwife both suggested BioGaia (baby probiotic), so DH is going to get some on his way home from work today. But they say it can take a few days to have an effect. :/ I'm getting pretty overwhelmed.
Our brakes died on the car, and we're now completely broke from fixing them. Actually, our account is overdrawn (we have overdraft protection fortunately). DH gets paid this week and we have to pay the second half of the car repairs. Then we'll have maybe $300 in our account. *sigh* We could really use some good school news soon.
Not much libido here, we're 6w now and will probably dtd if we ever get a moment with the bed to ourselves *AND* a sleeping baby that will let us lay him down... so yeah, who knows when lol
So far we've taken Griffin in the shower with one of us about once a week or so since he was born.
Congrats ironmam!! That's wonderful news!
If there was a thread about cloth diapering I overlooked it.
We have been gifted a cloth diapering service. When that runs out we will be using fitted diapers. We were gifted several different kinds of covers - bum genius, thirsties, and grovia. But we will need to acquire the diapers.
We could buy some prefolds - I think I read somewhere that gerber makes some that are inexpensive. (Honestly, don't have the energy to deal with craigslist at this point).
But I would like to transition to the fitted system eventually. The (original x-small) thirsties diaper cover seem to fit our LO best so far (esp. at the newborn stage, she is almost 10 lbs.)
Their website says that the diaper covers can be used with prefolds or the "fab fitted" system. Anyone have any experience with this "fab fitted" system?
Does anyone have any experience with any of the above or anything that I may not be familiar with?
Anybody seen the movie RENT? I am obssessed with it. Wish I could have seen the musical. I'm watching it now.
I'm not worrying about libido. Sex isn't even a blimp on my radar, being single and all I am
waiting on a call from my ob/gyn for my Mirena IUD. They have to order it in, and that'll take about a week and
I have this app called "Lightning Bug" on my phone. It does WONDERS to calm her down. I use it everyday.
