So my question is what is a healthy daily calorie intake while exclusively nursing. I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone.

Finally, what worked for me was joining Weight Watchers Online. They have a program specifically for breastfeeding. I joined for three months at once, which was a bit pricey, but soooo worth it. I lost 20 lbs. in three months, really learned the program, and then did it on my own after that. I just use a little notebook and I also found a free app.
