Did it take long to get pregnant?
Took me 3 months this time. (business trips and stomach flu ruined our first few chances!)
Been trying for 2 years. The last 6 months were with a RE for infertility treatments. We finally conceived on our second iui. It was a big surprise I thought I was out of the running this month. I finally got my bfp at 15dpo. I've got good feelings about this little bean. All my other pregnancies I somehow knew I was going to lose. This one feels right!
We weren't :/ We're hyper fertile. We conceived our first one within a week of deciding to TTC. Our second one was conceived the one time we forgot to use our birth control method. This one was conceived the one time the method malfunctioned. If I could give our fertility to a TTC couple, I would!! My husband is getting a vasectomy during this pregnancy..
We were sort of trying but life kept getting in the way. Since I have gotten my period back in August we said we wanted to try for a second. Someone in our family was sick every time so we didn't end up DTD in time. We were too concerned because we knew that obviously it was the gods telling us the time was not right. The time was right for us this month :) When I look at everything it is a really really good time to have a baby for us, it couldn't be a better time if we had tried to plan it!
This was our second month trying, which was also the case with DD and with the molar pregnancy I had before her (well, that had been about six months, but my second month charting, when I realized I ovulate late and we'd previously been timing it all wrong).
I turned 35 in January so I was prepared for it to take longer this time. So, I feel a little taken aback! I think I was ready in theory but maybe not quite ready in reality. I'm adjusting, though, and starting to feel excited!
I also wish we could bottle our fertility (or just luck?) and give it to others. We have a couple of sets of friends who have been trying since before DD was born, and I ache for them. Having the molar pregnancy gave me a taste of how difficult fertility challenges are. It was a real shock. Had a D&C and then we weren't allowed to TTC for six months after that.
JustJenny--I'm so glad you have a good feeling about this one! Yaaaay!
We were planning on waiting until later this summer to try. I wanted to be eating a fertility diet for 6 months, make sure DS had longer nursing, and have our living situation figured out first (we are looking to buy a home). But in the night, I was awakened and felt like God wanted to tell me something. So I prayed and had an overwhelming sensation that I was to give up control of our conception and to stop worrying. Boy, was it a shock and completely out of the blue (I wasn't even thinking about getting pregnant!). We conceived the next possible opportunity. I'm still working on giving God all my worries, but I feel so good about being pregnant.
It took us 8 months with my daughter, and then first time with our second, but I lost that baby. Then it took 8 months for the third but lost that one as well. After 4 months of trying for this one I started using some natural herbs that help boost fertility and even out your cycle (Maca root for one) and after trying two months we were pregnant! So 6 months total. It has been a crazy emotional ride with losing two babies last year, so I have been on edge with this pregnancy. But I have a good feeling about this one and had a US at 6 1/2 weeks with a strong heartbeat (115) I can't wait to hear that beautiful sound again!
