Yesterday at my 30 week appointment, both the student midwife and the regular midwife felt my baby's position, and mentioned that she is really low. She's head down, with her back on my right side. They assured me that low was not bad, but they did both sound really surprised!
What does it mean for a baby to be low? Does this affect labor timing/speed/pain? I am getting quite a bit of heartburn, but I am not out of breath at all. I'm not getting the rib kicks that my mom warned me about, but I'm getting some, er, breathtaking cervix punches. Is this just another variation on the way babies can be? What causes a baby to be low?
(Or high or medium or sideways for that matter -- where are your babies, and what do you feel?)
