how many unvaxxed children do you know?

I am not buying the 3/1000 figure.

I in addition to mine, I know 17 unvaxxed kids  if we are talking kids I see regularly, and 36 if we include kids I have not seen in a while.

I do know that birds of a feather flock together  - so I might know more by virtue of who I choose to hang out with, etc…but this only counts for about 50% of the above figure.  The other 50% I met at the library or swimming pool, hardly the exclusive domain of crunchy types.

I do not live in an area with a high unvaxxed rate.

It's rarely part of the conversation, but, yeah, I think I could match that 17 figure, at least.  But again, I don't discuss vax status with most people.  I agree that the number could be skewed by that company I happen to keep and the community I live near.  I think my previously-vaxxed kids are a minority among their immediate friends.

I personally know 11 that I can think of off the top of my head, but I don't discuss it with people. I belong to a holistic moms group and I'm sure there are more from there.

I wish I knew more :-(  With DH being a firefighter, the majority of our friends are in the fire/police/ems/nursing fields and vax to the max. I'm the black sheep.

Hmm. If I include ones whose parents started a series but then stopped and then never resumed the schedule, then ten, including my own kids. We're not in a stereotypical crunchy area either.

I wish I knew a lot of people who don't vaccinate! I'm jealous, lol. I barely know anyone who has kids. I don't know that many people close enough; like I don't even know my own cousin's kids' vaccine status. I only know of one friend that I know in real life who has 2 non-vaccinated kids & she's pregnant with a third. I personally have one kid who is not vaccinated.

My daughter will be in kindergarten in the fall and we have to do the medical checkup for school entry. I started calling places to see if their doctor's would do the exam for an non-vaccinated child. I called 3 places and all of them told me it was the first time anyone has ever asked them that question and they didn't know. I told my daughter's dad about how I'm pretty shocked that I'm the very first one these people have encountered and he said that he personally doesn't know anyone else who doesn't vaccinate.

Also, when I went to the school office (its a private school that she's been attending for the last 2 years) and I asked about the medical form (I forgot what I was asking) but I mentioned that she is not vaccinated, the people in the office also acted like they were surprised and that they haven't encountered that before. I remember when she first started school there a couple years ago, the school nurse also talked to me like she's never had this happen to them before. They didn't say to me that she's the "first", but the impression I got was that this is very rare for them.

None that I'm aware of. One or two selective, none unvaxxed.

Four of my own children. Quite a few outside of that.

This is the same reaction we got at their doctor's office.  Their ARNP was intrigued by my questions-- no one had ever asked her about forgoing vaccinations before, and she had been in the office for years and we live in an area where non-vaxxing families should be common, both for religious and crunchy reasons.  I knew many non-vaxxing families, so it was especially odd to hear that she had encountered exactly zero.  We were also the only people ever wanting to speak to her and ask questions before taking her on as their PCP, which I find odd.  I guess people questioning their physician about anything is out of the ordinary!

I think this is definitely the exception - which is pretty darn sad if you ask me!

IRL I know one family with 5 girls, maybe others but I don't really talk about it.

Outside of mothering, but still online, probably a couple of dozen at least. A lot more are probably selective/delayed too.

We are part of a homeschooling umbrella school which keeps our records for us and we have to have vax or exemption records on file, and they always send out exemption forms with the paperwork every year, so I guess it is popular enough that they need to do that.

I know 2 families = 6 children between them

I really wish I knew more....I'm sure there are more around me, but like me, don't openly talk about our non-vax status.
I know 3 families, 5 kids total; of the 5 kids, 2 are partially vaxxed; the parents stopped the vaxes after reactions.

6 families = 10 kids who don't vax at all, not including our 2.  plus some families who went sel/del but I would have to go way out to figure out how many. Non of them like to talk much about their non-vaxxing status. Go figure!  The majority in my area vaxxes though. I hear a lot of moms talking about how they just got their vaxxes done and at the same time you get to hear all the allergies, permanent rashes, asthma and what else not their children have. I really don't know whether it is connected to the vaxxes or just mere coincidence. Makes me wonder.
