Feeling super sick from certain foods

Hello all,

Just wanted to ask about something. At lunch today I made some salmon salad and now I feel so sick from it. My husband and my son's nanny both ate it and they are fine. But I feel so awful. I know the salad was fine (not spoiled). I have noticed this with other foods as well.

This didn't happen my last pregnancy. Is it common? I'm totally useless today.

Aversions to foods during pregnancy is not uncommon. If your husband and nanny both ate it and feel fine I wouldn't worry about it! If it was food poisoning they would aso be sick. Try drinking a lot of water and eating some bland foods until your stomach settles. A nice cup of ginger tea might also help soothe your stomach.

I hope you feel better soon!

I also wanted to add that some foods made me feel really sick when I was pregnant with DS that had never made me feel sick before, and I was a vegetarian at the time and all I wanted was cheeseburgers, haha. How far along in your pregnancy are you?

As a previous poster said, food aversions are very common and they can last the entire pregnancy. I normally drink coffee everyday but when I'm pregnant I can't even smell the stuff without gagging until the baby is born. With #2 I also couldn't stand the thought of chicken, but now with #3 that is all I want to eat. It's strange but a common pregnancy thing. I hope you feel better!

Thank you! It's just so weird because I didn't have this at all with the first one but everyone says that each pregnancy is different so here's my proof. :-) Thanks to everyone for the input.
