Ugh, so frustrating... I have had this with all my pregnancies whenever there has been increased sun exposure. It shows up in certain areas (upper lip, temple, chin), and this is despite using sunscreen. So far, it's not too bad since it is spring time, but I'm also having some issues with some extra redness from any pimples I've gotten this time around (I've had quite a few this past couple of weeks--maybe it's been caused by the progesterone supplements I had been prescribed? I'm done taking them now, maybe I'll clear up?). Once the pimple is gone, it seems to take forever for the redness left over to go away. Grrrr! So with the redness, plus the dark areas that are bound to start showing up, I'm not feeling too confident with how I am looking. Thank goodness for some make-up! Does anybody know if there is a lightening product that is safe to take when pregnant? Any suggestions on how to cope with this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to start feeling down because of having these skin issues.
Hyperpigmentation on face-- Is there anything that gets rid of it?
I hate it too. I'm sorry. I don't think there is much you can do about it while you are pregnant. It is very common because of all the hormones. Wear hats. Go to the thrift and find some cute hats and wear them or it will get worse. At least it did for me. Now, that I am not pregnant I was still left with some dark spot so I am currently using lemon juice and sunscreen.*hugs*
Thanks, tracyamber-- hugs back to you, too! It is so frustrating. I know that Brooke Burke was on the Doctor show and talked about it... she had it really bad. She talked about the sun exposure being so bad for it. I was out shopping yesterday looking for something to add to my sun protection regimen, and I came across a translucent pressed power that had SPF in it. The salesperson said that it is awesome because you put your SPF moisturizer on in the morning, and then throughout the day you can touch it up with the powder-- it does double duty, where it gets rid of the shine a person might get as well as adding more sun protection. But I'm not sure if it is comedogenic. I forget what it is called, but it was at Sephora. Not sure if those are in the States? The last thing I need is more zits!
