Sending lots of hugs to you Joanna. I looked it up on wikipedia and the prognosis is overwhelmingly encouraging. Over 95% of cases are successfully completed with Ponseti treatment, with the long term outlook looking comparable with the outlook of any other child. Not to minimize how you must be feeling just absorbing this news, at all, just saying how incredibly bright the prognosis looks in light of the highly effective treatment options.
Joanna.. that sure must be a shock to find out, but having the time to process will help. My cousin was born with the same condition and spent a few early months with a cast, and some later time with leg braces to encourage the straightening. He's now 30 and is a professional horse breeder and rider with absolutely normal feet. And that was 30 years ago, so I imagine the prognosis/treatment will be even better now.
My thoughts are with you and I hope this makes it seem a little less daunting. xxx
