What Motivates us? What motivates our kids?

Here is an RCA Animate video about the research surrounding what motivates people:

I think it is relevant to our kids too.  As a homeschooler, I am always interested in observing what my kids choose to do with their days.  An overwhelming majority of the time, they are busy, engaged, and happy.  They have a strong sense of purpose.  More importantly, on the daily basis, they come up with interesting things to do and dive into it with verve and motivation.

I thought I'd share the video as I found it relevant.

What motivates your kids?

Mine seem to be motivated by autonomy and freedom to do what they want BUT with some, albeit very loose, structure.  I find the structure bit is essential at least at their age; maybe this will change later?

They are also driven by the desire to create tangible stuff.  They both do a lot of drawing and polymer clay sculpting, legos and building using citi-blocks.

Another motivating factor? A desire to help and be useful.  Although this one is iffy.  They like to help me clean but I may not demand that from them if I want the work to be done cheerfully.

I can't watch the video. I've been having trouble the past couple weeks with opening links. This wil not open for me. Can you give me keywords to google it myself, perhaps?
