I'm only how far along?!

Thread Starter
I'm 30 weeks today and have been feeling like 38 for a few weeks now. Yesterday I had a moment that made me feel a little more validated and that I really am THAT pregnant.

I was walking home from the park with 2 year old DD when I noticed that she consistently stayed a step behind me and a little to the left as much as humanly possible. This was very strange since she usually walks a few steps ahead of me. After a while it dawned on me: she was staying in my shade lol. I'm a portable parasol; I'm simply that big and pregnant!

I also knocked a bunch of dirty dishes off the counter with my belly (my fault, I know for having them there in the first place) so last night we made an Ikea run so we'd have things to eat off of lol.

Anyone else feeling way bigger this time around?

LOL. Love that visual. I'm also feeling huge. I'm chocking it up to this being my 3rd but who knows. I'm 27 weeks, but I feel closer to 33-35. I'm achey, and also knocking stuff with my belly. Can't wait for August!

I love it!  Same here :)  I knocked DS in the head the other day with my belly.  He was like "Watch it, Momma!"

I can also no longer reach things in our upper cabinets because I cant get past the belly.

LOL, I was bigger with #2 than #1 and bigger with #3 and then #2...  It's actually nice this time - I'm back to about the same size as I was with #2... :D  Still feeling big for me, but not ridiculous! [l]  Anyway, the dishes in particular sounds crazy! :p    I'm just noticing some issues here and there with reaching things around my belly.  And I really started feeling in the last few days that baby is just "all up in my business" - well, as in, she feels like she is getting close to my ribs... :p

I love this post. Your daughter using you for shade!!!! Ha ha!!!!

I am only 26.5 and have felt third trimesterish for a couple weeks now. We've even gone back to look at old pics from pregnancy#2 to confirm that- yes, indeed. I DO have room to get bigger. :-P

I am 26 weeks but feel big too. I cannot bend over while sitting down...just ain't gonna happen!

I am way bigger this time around. I gained 30 with DD and have already gained 50 with the twins. I know that's why but it's still hard to get used to being this big and it being so hard to get up out of bed. I'm only 25 weeks.

I am huge this time too. I feel like this is what I was like with Monkey at the end and I am almost 28 weeks.

I'm 26w and cannot imagine getting any bigger, though Dr warned I'm likely to gain 15lbs. I started preg about 10-15 lbs more than my "normal" weight, so I feel so so huge already.

How does your belly circumference increased from here til the end? I'm going to work on a dress or 2 this weekend, and want to make sure pattern will accommodate.

cardigan, it's going to increase a LOT.  The biggest growth is between now and the end.  I think it basically doubles!!!

Good lord.  This isn't my first rodeo, but it's still a bit horrifying to read that even though I know it to be true.

I need to take more pictures at the end this time, my last belly shot was 36 weeks last time - since I was so sure I was going to go over, I didn't get around to taking one at 40 because DS came at 39. Whoops!

26 weeks to 39 weeks with my third:

And with my first - 26 to 40 weeks:

I'm not feeling too big yet. I think I have a fairly long torso, but at 28.5wks now, my fundus is clearly as high as it can go (perhaps why I can only eat half as much as I think I can?). Since I started with extra belly weight, anyway, it doesn't yet feel that different. Over the next weeks, though, I expect the outward growth to pick up a lot. My round ligaments are already protesting! I remember DH fussing at me last time for not jumping off the couch to help the kids. Um, hello?! Try doing that with a 30 lb, solid watermelon in your belly! eyesroll.gif

With my DD I didn't gain anything after 30 weeks. I don't know why, but I didn't, and I don't know that my belly got that much huger, either. Then again, she was small.

With my DD, I gained roughly 40 lbs. And I say roughly because I stopped looking at the scale at the end. Yikes! With this pregnancy, I'm at about 23 lbs already, so I'm guessing 40 lbs will be the end result again. Here's the difference from 26 to 40 weeks with her:

Me too! I don't know if it's the GD diet I'm following (I've dropped a pound since starting it 3+wk ago), or denial, but I just don't feel heavily pregnant yet. I'm only 25+wk though, and I remember instantly feeling so much more huge and miserable when I hit 27wk with #1 and #2, so we'll see how long this lasts. The second trimester feels so much longer this time around. I think I'm almost excited to feel really pregnant so it feels like I'm actually making progress! And yes, I know I'll regret saying that later. wink1.gif

I am feeling so much bigger this time too! I am a very petite and short lady so I have no room! But I feel like I look full term and cannot imagine doubling in size.  I am 25ish weeks here.  How on earth will I grow any bigger?? But trying to embrace it all!

You look great Oregon!

I can not imagine being twice the circumference I am now XD

All your pictures look amazing ladies.  I am only 28 weeks but measuring 34.  If you double in size with a singleton, I am terrified how much bigger I am going to get with these twins.  And this heat, omg.  Waddling along in 85 degree weather is NOT my idea of fun.  I am dropping weight, probably due to one of the babies deciding to take up residence near my stomach, and starting to feel ick.  My poor skin will never be the same... =/  I think I'm as big now as I ever was with my single babies.

I measured 31 weeks at 22 so I can't wait to see how big I am at my appt this week. I'm so bigger than I was with my singleton. I guess I'm not as worried about getting huge as I am with having premature babies so I'll go with getting bigger but I wonder how long I can keep gaining with the heartburn and general squashedness I'm feeling.  You all look great!
