Anyone else have this problem?

Ok, can anyone else out there not lose weight no matter what? I've got a 2 year old and a three month old. I managed to lose the baby weight from the newborn in three weeks! But that still leaves me at the weight I was when I delivered my little girl, over two years ago! I feel like I eat well, excersise pretty consistently. Got any ideas?

Are you bfing? I've heard that sometimes bfing can cause your body to hold on to every pound for dear life. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm not even bfing anymore. At least I didn't gain any weight after I stopped. I am on the pill, maybe that's it?

At least you were able to lose all your baby weight. I'm still stuck with 25 pounds of it! And I was overweight when I got pregnant!!! So I've got TONS to lose. Bf'ing has not helped me at all. If you are no longer bf'ing, then I'm not certain why it's giving you such a hard time.

Good Luck

I had this problem. I ate well and went running most days and it was hard to just maintain my weight and slowly lose. I ended up reading all the low-carb books (I read South beach and parts of Atkins on the Web) and then used my new knowledge about carbs to start eating a much lower carb diet. I am a vegitarian and don't eat eggs, so carbs were a part of many meals (and in ways I didn't really know, like kiwi for example is outragously high in carbs, whho knew?). So, I still eat carbs like beans are a regular and I'll eat a piece of bread or scoop of ice cream every once and a while, but I treat it like a treat. I have lost 20 pounds since valentine's day and 40 pounds in the last 7 months (From a size 20 to a size 10)

i have graves disease, had radio iodine treatment so now have no thyroid and take replacement hormone , synthroid every day. when i'm hypo thyroid i have no metabolism, can't lose weight even with diet and excercise.
if you're feeling lethargic, depressed, anxiety prone, and are having trouble lsoing weight, sleep disturbances etc..might wanna check it out just inc ase

Breastfeeding didn't help me in the beginning months but it sure has helped since (ds is 20 months and still nurses a lot!) I exercise a lot and watch what I eat but don't count calories, and I've lost 70 pounds since having ds in Aug. 2002. The pounds really started coming off when he was 6 months old or so.

Go girl! So I am totally interested in the specifics of how you did this as I am a vegan and heavily rely on carbs. Please get back to me if you've got a minute.

I have a similar problem. I am frustrated because I exercise more and eat way better than I did in high school. I am more conscientious of what I put in my body and am on vitamins as well. My body continues to go downhill with age.

Here's two things I found

1) I dropped weight very quickly a few years back on a yeast cleanse (20 lbs). When people have a yeast invasion they are either skinny as a rail or hold on to weight no matter what they do. Try a yeast cleanse to see what happens. You don't necessarily have to have symptoms of vaginal yeast infection to have yeast problems.

2) I have a menu planner with my Winsor Pilates videos. The dieticians write that you need to eat protiens, carbs, and fats in the right balance to lose effectively. If you are interested in learning how to balance this PM me, I'ts long and I won't waste my time typing it if you are not interested. I need to quote and paraphrase too as not to infringe on copyright laws.
