Hi, all! I had my 20 week appointment today, and it went so well - I'm really pleased. I gained 4 pounds last month, which still leaves me at -3 since the pregnancy started (like I said, my BMI is over 30, so I don't have to gain more than 20 pounds total). I'm very happy, although I know now is when I really need to crack down and wean myself off of some of the comfort junk food.
I got to meet the 3rd and final midwife in my practice, meaning that now they all know me, so I don't have to worry about getting delivered by someone I've just met. :) She was great, and she told me that what I've been feeling is definitely movement and that I wasn't allowed to question it anymore. Lol. She said it's really common to feel lots one day, and no movement the next, which is what was making me question it before. Everything is on schedule, and she found the heartbeat immediately, which was super cool. I guess the days of hunting for it are gone by the time you're halfway through - the kid's awfully big now! Oh, and our quad screen came back all negative, so that's lovely.
Now I get to look forward to the ultrasound on Friday! I know it's not really meant to be a fun one, but I really do look forward to it mostly because it's a big milestone and it'll really help me feel like I'm halfway there. And I haven't seen the kid in 2 months, so it'll be fun to see him/her again. Thinking about it that way helps take my worries away, although hearing that heartbeat today really helped too.
As for pregnancy brain... I forgot my own due date after the appointment when the receptionist asked. How's that for clueless? :P And I keep losing my cell phone, which I'm usually so good about! Eeesh.
