I know there are 800 threads on nursing strikes and links to Kellymom on what to do. The problem is, my baby (B) doesn't like to feed when tired, right before bed, when sleeping, etc. Basically, B nurses when B wants to nurse, which isn't frequently. My baby is already small and I fear the lack of nursing is not helping matters. I don't know when to give up and just start giving some milk to complement the breastmilk.
Baby (B), not yet 18 months, is nursing roughly 3-5 times a day. The best feeding is in the morning, but overall, it isn't always a lengthy feed. Throughout the day B may nurse 3-4 other sessions, but B normally just suckles for a minute, pops off, and runs away. I know B isn't getting enough. B's solid food intake is good, including dairy, but I know breastmilk (and/or milk) is important.
What would you do? What did you do? If you did supplement with some milk, did your baby wean completely? Was anyone able to do both (milk and breastmilk)?
