We are planning on trying for another child this summer. I have Hashimoto's and my labs are all over the place and my dr. does not seem concerned- time to switch! I take compounded t3/t4 right now, so would love to find a doc that can manage thyroid issues through pregnancy and won't insist on sticking me on Synthroid (which does NOT agree with me at all!). I'm at the Jersey Shore but am desperate and would be willing to travel pretty much anywhere in NJ or the Philly/Bucks area if necessary. Any suggestions?
Need endocrinologist in NJ/eastern PA!
I don't have Hashimoto's, but I was having infertility issues and found out I have hypothyroid through an RE. I was on synthroid, and thankfully was able to conceive after about three months. (That's just for background information) I found a Holistic Dr in Colts Neck, NJ who prescribes Nature Throid, (She actually dispenses the Nature Throid right out of her office) and also looks at all of your blood levels (extensive!) to see where else you may be deficient. I am not using an endocrinologist, just her for my thyroid management. She will do bloodwork as needed so far, monthly. She also helps you with supplemements. She does NOT take insurance, but will give you a receipt to submit to your insurance company to see if you can get reimbursed. I really really like her. Check her out. I actually found her on the Stop The Thyroid Madness Website, which is a great resource for those with thyroid issues.
