Portland, Oregon: Unschooling Community Survey

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I am working with a couple of other parents to form a Portland home/un/non-schooling online group/community. We are hoping to have couple of things from this new community:

1) The use of a site with member management, online forums, calendars (with event RSVPing), file sharing and photo sharing. The site would also include subgroups that members can subscribe to, which would limit the number of emails that a member receives....letting each member cater their information by their specific needs within the group.

2) Having a community with some shared values and cooperative culture, where potential members get some meet and greet opportunities with the group before joining - keeping the community a little tighter knit.

3) Having a wide variety of age groups so that teenage learners could benefit opportunities for mentorship of younger members, who would additionally benefit from this kind of relationship.

4) Forums where volunteer opportunities, field trips, classes, etc...can be discussed and collaborated upon.

We would like input from the Portland home/un/non-schooling community so that we can set this online group up in a way that would best serve the families in the area. If you have a few moments, could you please take this nine question survey?

Thanks so much!
Becky

Becky, were you at the Life is Good conference? Might be worth posting this link on the Life is Good Facebook page :)
