Music!  My mother, sister and nanny all use music to put my baby down for naps.  Doesn't work for me...but that's cause she's holding out for the breast.

She loves to fall asleep to Iron & Wine, Bruno Mars, Dennis Jernigan...

Yes I agree with you! I have a almost EBF baby. He has snacks only to keep occupied such as organic rice crackers, organic puffs/cheerios etc. but only after he has been breast fed. I only give him these bc he always wants to eat when we are eating, so they keep him happy and busy. However when I leave him (maybe once a month) and I don't have much pumped, I allow whoever is with him to give him organic pureed fruits and veggies.

You may find it harder to get your LO to take the bottle then to just tank her up before you leave.  My son hated the bottle which he got very infrequently with pumped milk and around 3 or 4 months just refused it out right, much to MIL dismay.  And he would take a pasifier.

I went back to school when my son was 9(ish) months and I didn't do formula. I could barely pump but I would pump just enough for a small feeding and he would have some finger foods. He never went hungry. I just made sure to nurse a lot before I left and nurse a lot after I came back home. Good luck!
