Spring has come and my car has a fair amount of salt on it after the winter. I had planned to wash the car myself at home (in the driveway), but then I started looking around online and seeing articles that said, washing one's car at home is not very eco-friendly because it uses more water than a car wash would and there's no good, safe drainage in most driveways. And also that washing at home, it's hard to get under the car, which is were most of the salt is, so that one ends up with damage to the car sooner, so it lessens the life span of the car (which didn't seem very eco-friendly to me either!). So, now I'm not sure that I want to wash my car at home. What do you all think? What's the most eco-friendly way to wash a car? Are there such things as eco-friendly commercial car washes?
