Lida - I have never made cloth diapers, but I found various resources and tutorials on it. Here's some of the links I found:
Crazykitty - That sounds like a great idea, making baby stuff out of adult shirts. I have been oddly shy of upcycling type things, despite how much I sew.
Opheliajoy - Making the baby is definitely enough! I've only *just* begun to be able to contemplate anything else. I'm in the situation where I have way more time than money, and there's not much possibility of hand-me-downs, so if this kid is going to have nice stuff, I'm pretty much going to have to make it myself. And making things is enjoyable for me. Don't feel pressured!
Aphel - Definitely counts :) My dad is planning to do various woodworking projects to make me nice baby furniture (I described my plans for sidecarring a crib, so we'll see what he comes up with).
Kimkim - I guess a summer baby would need a lot less, wouldn't they? I am not entirely clear on how much warmth a baby will need in the very mild Texas winter.
Earthwalker - I don't know how anybody with a small child around manages to get any craft type things done, so definitely don't sweat it! Do it if it's fun for you and if you can.
Trish - I'd be interested in your opinion on the Wazoodle link I posted above. It's a bunch of precut diaper kits, and the price is so low that I question if I could beat it with buying the fabrics by themselves. Where do you like to get materials?
