Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and is enjoying balmy summer weather, feeling well and basking in the second-trimester glow! What's new? Any big plans for the week? Gardening? Beaching?
I have a busy-ish day planned here...climbing "Mount Laundry," a date with my dear friend for lunch today with our kiddos, then bringing a postpartum meal and a sling to a friend with a week old babe, and yoga this evening. I had a midwife appointment yesterday, and brought my intended doula along (she's new to our community but has lots of homebirth midwifery apprenticeship experience and will be an awesome asset on our birth team). I'm feeling more comfortable and confident about my home birth plan now that I feel the team is adequate. 24 weeks now...woohoo for viability! Lots of baby wiggles, and I'm measuring ahead a bit at this point...but have only gained 4 lbs above my pre-preg weight (thanks to my initial loss).
Getting the garden planted this week (I know it seems late, but we had a hard frost on Sunday night so we're waiting for a few more days). We'll do loads of green beans, cukes and kale, and some broccoli, zucchini, tomatoes, kohlrabi and lettuces. And herbs. I didn't start seeds this year, because....I was lazy, and we don't have an easy, practical, protected-from-cats place to sun them indoors. So, I'll get starts for kale, broccoli, etc at the farmer's market this week. Our 4 year old DS started soccer a few weeks ago, so that's been fun and hilarious to do together, and we got our 4 pullets a couple of weeks ago, which is going well so far. We have 3 Red Stars and 1 Black Star (who seems to be the leader). Those who have chickens: is it just me being new, or are they SO entertaining to watch every day or what? Such funny animals.
Feeling very well, but need to get myself to the chiropractor. It's been almost a month and I can tell, because my pubic bone is feeling a little out of sorts and I'm a bit back-achy at the end of the day. I've been feeling a little "nesty," and noticing all the things I want to have fixed in the house before I birth (and when I find that money tree). Time seems like it will go faster now, and I'm starting to think about what I'll need to be getting ready for baby's arrival and the home birth kit, etc.
So, what's on your mind this week?
