Ok...I admit it, I have tried the Flylady cleaning program once for two-three weeks - it was great. The house was starting to look good, I felt great about it, I liked the system...then, well, I stopped. I have told myself that was going to start again recently (a couple of times, actually) and didn't. I am hoping that feeling accountable will help me, motivate me. Maybe by having a little MDC group to chat with will make things a little more fun for all of us. Misery loves company, right?
Anyone want to do Flylady (or something similar) with me?
She has a version with only 1 email a day that is much better. You just sign up for the regular one then manage your subscriptions to switch to that one.
Oh my, yes...definately survival mode skycheattraffic! Good luck with everything!!!
Moving is the pits, Springshowers. I am wishing you a speedy moving process!
I am starting off slow. My schedule is a little crazy right now; I normally stay at home with the kids, but I am also a grad student. I have to obtain clinical hours (basically like going to work), so I am not at the house like I used to be. I also have a lot of homework in the evenings. So, I am deliberately taking it super slow for a while. I did the dishes and cleaned the sink tonight. Now to work on papers. :)
i need to get back in a "better routine"
i read a lot about flyladies and wrote my own
- day list
- weekly list
- monthly list
- bi-yearly list
my kids are a bit older now .... but with illness striking, i've not kept up with "the theory"
yet, ... i like knowing that i've narrowed down the possibles (in tasks)
so it's less stressful ... even if i don't get round to doing much ... most weeks
am usually happy to manage at least half of my day list !
so ... what are you up to ?
have been thinking of this thread so today i tried completing half of my daily list before taking DD2 to school
this afternoon, i've spent 2 x 15 minutes tackling some of the jobs on my weekly list (wipe bathroom tiles and elements, mop floor, wipe kitchen surfaces.....)
You now how you're supposed to set the time and put X amount of things in a bag to donate...well, I honestly don't really have anything to donate. It's not like we are clutter free, but...I just don't know what I would put in the bag...
I guess I could spend X amount of time in my closet clearing old clothes out...that I could do.
Ok, I have to share - after writing that last post I figure out tons of crap I could go through and donate/throwaway! Soooo, today, I cleaned out from under our bed! We had three flat storage containers full of...crap. Some stuff I did save (and put away), but most I tossed out! Yay! Now I can clean the floor under the bed...eventually!
Admittingly I have yet to read the comments here but I do want to say that while I *love* the FlyLady BOOK, I hated receiving her e-mails. They bombarded my inbox and I got so annoyed I just began deleting them all the time. To anyone who does want to do FlyLady I very much recommend getting the book instead of the e-mails!
I should also say that I love using her system and it has been working for me for a while now. The only thing I can't and won't do is the "dress to shoes" thing. I have been a barefooter almost 100% of the time for almost 10 years, dressing "to shoes" is NOT happening in this house though sometimes I do tie on some barefoot sandals for giggles sake.
