Today i went to the store and bought all sorts of meat and stuff and ingredients to make a giant vat of pasta salad tomorrow. I have a 12-hour day coming up on Thursday... I'm going to need a LOT of food to get through that! I don't want to talk about my pregnancy at work yet so I am trying not to act too weird. It actually helps in this case that I am usually at a different site every day; people don't know me as well so if I change behavior, they may not pick up on it. Typically floating to different sites is a pain in the you-know-where and I really hate that aspect of my job, but this is a silver lining.
Tonight my husband made some pasta-chicken-veggie mishmash. I ate two bowls and didn't get hungry for like 4 hours! That has to be a record. I've been eating a small amount of something (like a small bowl of pasta or an energy bar or half a sandwich) practically every hour for the past few days.
We told my husband's parents via Skype tonight. They are excited. We have kind of a difficult relationship with my parents, but we are probably going to see them on Friday and probably going to tell them then. Our "big sister" shirt for our daughter came in the mail today. :)
auchencook, I definitely feel you on the early-pregnancy food issues... it sucks! The only advice I can give is to get a wide variety of stuff and then the chances that you'll hit on something you can stand to eat are higher. Also, when you find something you can stand to eat, still try to find other things and vary your diet, because otherwise you'll get sick of that food and then you'll really be in trouble. My first pregnancy was a nightmare this way. I remember eating cream cheese with a spoon at one point because I just couldn't find anything else. And if you can stand the unhealthy food and can't find anything healthy, eat that! At least it has calories. This stage is all about survival.
