I haven't shaved my legs since November - Page 2

ok klothos, i have to know why you shaved your eyebrows.
the first time i shaved them, i was 12 and it was a complete accident. i had tried tweezing, and decided it hurt too much and everyone else must be stupid for not just shaving... :LOL so i tried shaving my eyebrows and after a few swipes... ** whoops ** there went half a brow. :LOL

the next time, i was 14, and it went along w/ my gothy image.

then i was 15 and headed to a manson concert... again w/ the gothy thing.

then i was 17 and rather hippy-ish again... and decided i just didn't like my huge, hairy, caterpillar Latina brows. so... off they went.

then when i was shaving my head a few months ago, it was like... why not make it all match?

i personally feel like i look better w/ no eyebrows. they piss me off. they're so much trouble to keep "neat," you know? all that tweezing and grooming, and then i still have to trim them, and put on clear mascara / brow tamer and comb them because they get so *thick*....

Whee! I kinda guessed right!

I've been getting more Goth in my old age -- back when I was in HS, I had all these Goth friends, but I was just way too much of a hippie dresser to become Goth. Now -- well, living in a big City and wanting to be fashionable, I'm finding myself moving more towards Gothdom. I'm even thinking of dying my hair blue/ black! (I'm blonde).

No eyebrows is with me

oooooh, i get it. i'm so dense sometimes.: i guess that never occured to me just because i'm one of those tweeze a la garbo kind of gals. i thought maybe you did it for an acting role or something. i didn't realize that marilyn manson has no eyebrows until just now. not too observant am i?

I am a very hairy Irish girl, I don't know why!!! I leave the pits alone b/c I will not go thru that much pain for vanity!...My pubs are OUT OF CONTROL! So I don't even try. I like those bathing suits that are shorts. I shave the very bottom of my legs, shins & below b/c I have a tatoo that I like to have clean. and i live in a hot hot part of CA and hair as a covering is not such a good thing when it's 110 degrees out....

Can I still be in the crunchy club if I shave my shins?

Yay for furries!!!!

I have recently given up shaving due to lack of energy, but I have come to love my furries! I would rather not part with them, although my husband has made it known that he isn't quite as fond of my under arm hair as I am.
Says I'm a hippie
I think he is way off base. This comes from a guy who grew his nails longer than most woman and filed them to a sharp point when I first met him. I certainly didn't burst his bubble.
Oh well I guess I will have to decide which I want more; happy furriness, Or a happy hubby.

Great to know I'm not the only "hippie" out there

WATCH OUT!!! Here comes Another Hairy Woman!!!!!

I haven't shaved anything in about 6 years and I love it. My leg and pit hair is so nice and soft and since I don't care, and DH doesn't care, why bother with the money and the time, etc.

well, since this thread I started hasn't died yet, figured I'd give y'all an update...
still haven't shaved my legs. Mom gave me some hot wax treatment - scared to use it, though. I read the instructions, it seems I'd need to trim the hair before applying the wax since it's too long? I'm too lazy to do all that!
thinking about trying DH's electric razor that he shaves his head with - but same problem, I'd have to trim my leg hair with the clippers first.

mama thistle, your name suits you even better now that you've mowed!
:LOL

(i amuse myself)teehee

wemoon, I'm with you on the change of wardrobe. I never wear shorts...unless I'm swimming and then I figure it is better then wearing a swimsuit. I am not comfortable in either of them! Skirts and capris feel good to me!

I often wear thin jeans and thin overalls in the summer, even with the heat. Then I don't stress as much about sunburn either, as I'm fair skinned.

i read not too long ago in the book "the joy of sex" (just for the funny sake of things i thought i'd tell you that i originally typoed "the job of sex"...tee hee...sometimes! really sometimes it is) that the armpit hair should under no circumstances be shaved! it made me laugh so hard, i love my pit hair because it is soft and i don't have a huge mound or anything, it's just long and straight and brown and soft. it's a good thing. you should get that book and look at the drawings in it of the woman with pit hair. but apparently shaving other parts is okay because she is quite trimmed

so hair is associated with sexuallity. maybe that's why some women like hairy men...just like some men like "hairy" women. i can't imagine feeling sexy if i had back hair though, because man i'll get one of those long black hairs occassionally on my breast and i pull that sucker, it is gone gone gone...yet i take pleasure in all of my other hairs. the psychology of hair goes deep huh?

you're crackin me up SSSmommy!
I can't stand for those booby hairs either! My 3 yo stops nursing & says "mom, there's a hair in my mouth!". Also, I get some hair on my big toe that makes me feel weird, so I'll use the trimmer on those. Really, those little trimmers are the way to go for me, I'm a bit uber hairy. I trim the pits & pubs up every once in a while to keep em out of the way!

I am one of the "hairless apes". I admit it. I don't shave much during the winter, but I do more in the summer (try a string bikini with hair on a woman not exactly skinny...).
I WANT to not shave so much! I want dd to grow up and see that mommy accepts that part of her body. I want to break the myth that gilette started that says only men get to keep their goddess-given body hair!
.... but i am having trouble making that leap. I like that 4 hours after shaving when my legs are smooth. I wanted to start shaving by age 10. A few years later, my underarms started sprouting. I resisted, b/c I didn't want them to end up rough and bumply like my legs did once I shaved, but it was the night of my grade 7 prom and my mom and best friend *made* me do it (my dress was strapless). Now I shave the poor things every few days, even in winter. If my hair was soft and blonde, I could do it. But my skin is very white, and my hair is very dark. My sis used something called Jhergens shave minimizer, and her hair is very light now, but I'm skeptical of something like that.

And don't get me started on the breast thing. That's one place I've made myself stop shaving. I have extreme hirsuitism there, and it is the one thing that makes me nervous about NIP. I am ashamed of the hair, and I am ashamed that I am ashamed, if that makes sense.

I feel like shaving is an offence to the Goddess, that She made me hairy, and that's how I am supposed to be. I bet She has lots of body hair! I just can't break through the stupid society I was raised in. You fuzzy gals are an inspiration!

I haven't bought new blades in a while, and I'm almost out. Maybe I just won't buy any more....
