stay at home mom with concussion

Hi everyone I am here to seek some advice.  I got a concussion 1 week ago, now out of the hospital but my bed rest is coming to an end since DH has to go back to work on Monday.

Monday a friend can help out but on Tuesday I am all on my own with the kids for 12 hours.

I am still experiencing some symptoms but nothing major.  I can get up and prepare a meal or do a short task but after an hour I feel woozy and want to go back to bed.  I am also overwhelmed by the noise and activity of the kids so I've been trying to stay out of the way but now that won't be possible.  I've been told that my brain can only heal if I get enough rest but I don't know how I am going to manage much rest with a 2 year old at home and a 5 year old to drop off and pick up from kindergarten.

I can probably get an hour's rest during the 2 yr olds nap time and maybe also pop in a video or two during the day but evenings are going to be tough with both kids typically screaming and fighting.

Just curious about other's experiences.  I am going to visit the dr again on Monday but wanted to formulate some thoughts before hand.

Did anyone have a mild concussion which healed even though they were looking after kids and not really resting?  Should I ask the dr about emergency child care or just suck it up and get out of bed and try to have an early evening? Thanks for your thoughts and support.

In your shoes, I'd ask the doctor about childcare. I'm particularly worried about whether it's okay for you to drive.

Gosh mama, that sounds rough.

Are you feeling better now? Were you able to get some help?

Sorry that I don't have any advice, just sending hugs and hope you are finding time to rest.
