Ciga, ignore the weight tracker!! Listen to your body and your midwife. I know a girl who says she doesn't obsess about her weight (she's due very soon) but it seems like all she talks about is how she goes to the gym every day, and how many calories she "allowed" to have, blah blah blah. I just refuse to play into the weight obsessed attitude, it drives me nuts haha. I'm sure your weight is totally fine :)

ciga, I completely understand. I'm plus sized, and my midwife gave me an 11-20 pound weight gain range for the pregnancy, which so far has been very easy considering I lost 7 pounds in the first trimester. But I've come across guidelines online suggesting 10 pounds max! 11 pounds at 20 weeks is 100% the low end of weight gain for anybody, believe you me.
dahlia, I'm actually surprised by my MIL's offer. We've always kinda been at opposite ends, but somehow this pregnancy has totally turned her around. I think the sheer excitement of having a grandchild that will live only 15 minutes away is making her giddy. (Her other 3 grandkids live in New York while we all live in Washington state.) After dealing with my sister in law, who's very New York and VERY set in her ways, I think my MIL is also super excited that she and I share lots of parenting views - cloth diapering, breastfeeding, babywearing, things like that. My inlaws are still very hippie at heart. :)
Okay, so, you know that thing where your uterus randomly tightens up and feels really hard? Is that a Braxton Hicks contraction? It doesn't hurt, it's just a little uncomfortable, so I'm not sure. Google is helping me nohow with this question.
rainyday- that sounds a lot like braxton hicks to me. I get them all the time and it is such a weird feeling.
during my last pregnancy I didn't even have a scale in my house. I didn't really think about how much I was gaining at all until I was like 38 weeks and realized I had gained 50+ lb. I just need to let go and maybe eat fewer sugar cookies than I did in my 3rd trimester last time but otherwise trust that my body and baby will grow at the rate they are supposed to. Also, though the internet can be awesome I also need to remind myself that everyone has a different idea about what is healthy for a pregnant body and most of those opinions don't really jive with what your body has in store for you.
On another note, I finally ordered a maternity bikini bottom from Old Navy to go with the top I found at Goodwill. It was too big but super cute so hopefully by next friday I'll be swimming in the pond in the smaller one I exchanged it for. I spent so much time scanning ebay for the perfect suit and losing bids that I just ordered the damn thing new. At least I know I'll be able to pass it on to pregnant friends and sisters in the future if it doesn't fit postpartum. I can't wait to go swimming in something other than bulky shorts!
Another "yeah!" for the swimsuit! I pulled both mine out a couple months ago (Florida girl here), and was shocked to discover that both of them barely cover this belly . . . and I have three months to go! The one I bought last time to fit me "at the end" is barely fitting! So strange!
My weight gain is much less than with the other two babies, but my fundal height is measuring 28 weeks (at 25), which was a surprise! Both my kids were small-average (6.12 and 7.3) and I had to have 2 ultrasounds to "verify" they were growing . . . apparently that won't be an issue with THIS baby!
We are finally done with our school year and are leaving for almost FOUR weeks of vacation on Sunday! Whoooohoooo! Heading to the countryside of waaaaay upstate NY to relax at my parent's house! Much needed break!
I hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend! It's Monday here, and the weather is average but a nice quiet home day is in order, according to my back which is pretty sore, doesn't cope to well now with standing up and walking all day.
Dh and I went and bought this wee girl a 4 in 1 cot yesterday, scored 40% off too so it was obviously meant to be! It's beautiful, now just to find the space for it in the bedroom....
Ds2 is currently playing play doh and making "mini sausages" for the oven, a lovely quiet activity and just because he so cute and really enjoying himself here's a photo.
