Travel Bed for Toddlers

Those of you with floor beds - how do you travel?  My 17-month-old has a floor bed in her room, and she is TOTALLY OVER sleeping in a pack-n-play.  We are visiting my parents, and I'm trying to create a floor sleeping nest for her and looking for options.  [It's not feasible to put the entire guest bed on the floor, and the bed is waaaaaay too high for her to sleep in there without me.]  Anybody have any great products or tips for portable toddler floor beds?  Anybody have a surefire system for preparing and babyproofing a temporary room?

A few ideas depending on the frequency of your travel:

two bed rails for either side of bed + some pillows at the foot of the bed; travel with the bedrails (they generally will fit in a compact) or leave them there

one bed rail + co-sleep on the other side

kid size Aero bed (my kids love these) low to ground, depending on our agility may be able to get in and out, mimics sleeping situation at home, my monster sized 6 year old can still sleep in it
