Seeking tips for Recovering from post-partum hemorrhage

Thread Starter
I gave birth 10 days ago and had a pretty serious hemorrhage after an uncomplicated natural birth. I am not sure how much blood loss I had, but my midwives had to administer 2 shots and then oxytocin and saline IV before it stopped (with an ambulance waiting in the wings...we were lucky to avoid transfer to the hospital).
This is my second birth, and I am bleeding a lot more PP than with the first...all this to say that I am worried about rebuilding my blood and energy levels to keep up with taking care of my newborn and 2 yr old!
I am currently taking 40 ml of floradix daily....and eating a very nourishing diet trying to focus on iron- rich foods. Are there any other foods, herbs or ways to recover from the blood loss?

welcome and heartfelt sympathy for your challenging post-birth issues!  i ordered liquid chlorophyll (recommended by another mama on this site) for post-birth blood loss, as well as wombstrings from wishgarden herbals.  I didn't end up being dramatically affected by blood loss, but my midwife was so excited about wombstrings and made sure i took my doses for the hours after birth she was around.  i don't know if i bled a lot, but she was really really really encouraging of me taking it after my long labor and i figured i might have bled more than she was comfortable seeing.

how are you doing?
