So the night before last my daughter was having a rough night sleeping so I brought her into bed with us. At around 4 in the morning she was sideways, kicking me and pushing my DH off the bed, so I carried her back to bed. While I was up I went to the bathroom, because well I always have to anymore. While I was sitting there I lost my vision for about a minute. It came back and I tried to stand up and started to pass out so I got to the ground before I didn't have control over how I got to the ground. Scared my husband to death. So I kind of brushed it off as exhaustion from carrying my toddler to bed at 4 and not getting restful sleep. But then it happened later when I was making dinner (and I had taken 2 naps before dinner time). Only I didn't lose my vision this time. I'm starting to get worried something is really wrong after calling my OB and them wanting me to come in at the next available appt. Which was 20 mins from when I called, but then they called back because the Dr had to leave for a delivery. So now I go in at 11:30. I've just been having bad feelings lately since I haven't had a check for the baby's heartbeat since 6 1/2 weeks and I'm 11 1/2 weeks now. Anyone else ever had anything like this happen??? I guess I will update in a few hours... Ugh I just pray it is nothing and baby is fine. I don't know if I can handle losing another baby.
I've definitely had some near misses with fainting this pregnancy too. Something I read said the extra progesterone expands your blood vessels and can make many women feel light headed. So hopefully it is just extreme light headedness? I've been trying to be careful to get out of bed slowly, get up slowly, etc. And eating as soon as I get up seems to be helping. I hope your appointment goes well today!! I hope it's nothing serious!!
I've had this a few times in the past, including the blacking out part; but I usually can't recover if it gets that bad and I do pass out. Just once in this pregnancy has it happened and thank goodness I recovered before I fainted because I was alone at work. I know I would have come to eventually, but it would have been so scary. I've never had an explanation for why it happens though I have gone to the hospital because of it a few time. It's a rare enough event that I don't worry about it too much.
I hope everything is ok for you at your appointment this morning.
Thanks everyone! My appointment went fine. My Dr said he is not too worried because I was able to recover so quickly. But if I fully lose conscience it means my heart might be having trouble keeping up. So he just said to move more slowly and keep doing what I'm doing (getting on the ground as soon as possible to take gravity out of the picture.) He also said that it could be that it is happening now out of no where because I'm in the process of transitioning into my second trimester (11 1/2 wks.) He said something like that can just throw things out of whack a bit. But if it keeps happening he said he may send me for an EKG. So far everything is ok though, and baby's heartbeat was 166. So that puts me at ease a bit for now.
Nyakanyasko- Hmm that is interesting. I am on Progesterone suppositories so I wonder if I just had an overload? lol
