Feeling movement! - Page 2

This is my 6th and I am 15 weeks and have felt 1 kick-like movement.  That's it.   I'm not worried I always started between 17 and 19 weeks with my others...maybe I just have a thick uterus lol

I go some days feeling tons of movement and some days feeling nothing. I have an anterior, low-lying placenta so I guess it's because I only feel it when baby is on the left side of my uterus.

I had some honest-to-goodness kicks the other night that I could feel on the outside.  So cool!  They were kind of down and to the left.  But yeah, feeling movement is still pretty off and on still.  I also think I've been having BH contractions, which seems so early.  I had about 2 contractions with DS before labor started so this is pretty different.  Anybody else have them so early?

Cwill--Yep, I've had at least one honest, true-blue braxton hicks a couple weeks ago, and then yesterday, while I didn't feel the contraction itself, I think I had another--I could only tell because I was lying down and my uterus felt very distinctly sort of bunched up and hard. I read it's normal to have them as early as 2nd trimester, especially if you're dehydrated or have a full bladder.

I've been feeling little bubbly sensations from time to time for several weeks now, but sometimes they're outside the area of my uterus, so I'm not so sure they're movement. Some probably are, I'm sure.

nolamama - I have a confirmed anterior placenta and have felt essentially nothing. Probably 2-3 little "flutters" for lack of a better term in the last 2 weeks, but nothing consistent or substantial. It is disconcerting! Even with my first I could feel as early as 16 weeks and now I'm going on 20 with my 7th!!

but that anterior placenta will do it. Also had that with #4 and it really delayed felt movement too...

I too have a confirmed anterior placenta and movement has been few and far between. It has been worrying to me ( I had 2 m/c last year and am on pins and needles it seems!) but it puts my heart at ease to read your words mcimom. Thank you!

Hi everybody,

Good news is ever since that weird week I've been feeling movement every day, which is really nice. So I have a question...my midwife told me she thinks I, too, have an anterior placenta. But I've felt movement since 14w5d, and now at 17w4d my husband and I can feel the baby kicking from the outside. Does it really sound like an anterior placenta? I feel movement in all different part of my uterus, left, right, low, high, wherever. I guess an anterior placenta doesn't mean a lot anyway in practical terms (or does it?), but since I actually never heard of it before this pregnancy it just got me wondering.

Feeling blessed that this baby is so easy to notice!

I just found out today, at my 20 week ultrasound, that I have an anterior placenta  as well. I have been feeling lots of movement for awhile and DH has been able to as well. Most of the movement I've been feeling though is low movement not much in my upper tummy yet. Must be the reason why! At least it is high and the tech said it was nothing to worry about! smile.gif

Add me to the anterior placenta club!

No movement here yet, 18 weeks tomorrow...

I am 18.5 weeks now. I have been feeling light fluttery movement for a while now, at least a month. The past 3 or 4 days it has felt like this little one has been doing situps and jumping jacks inside of. The ultrasound tech called him hyper during our session the other day, he completely rolled over as we watched.

Yep, me too!  Most of the movement has been low and to the left, but I've been feeling it since 17 weeks.  I found out that I have a high anterior placenta today too.  I will say that babe was kicking and rolling throughout the US and I felt maybe 1/10 of that so there's definitely some muffling going on, but definitely feeling the kicks and they are getting stronger and stronger.

Got my 20 week ultrasound (the only one we plan to have if we have a choice) today and my placenta is posterior and fundal (high up). Feels like it makes sense to me! I'm very glad it's not near the cervix as there was some anxiety from midwives last time about whether they'd have to risk me out because of the placenta position. Yay!

Also in the anterior placenta club! 20+ weeks, and still no movement felt. :\
